price DORA/VIN

Every time I call my dealer the fleet ordering guy seems to be "out". Can someone else at the dealer give me a copy of my DORA or check if anything has been updated in their system?

DORAs are printed out overnight by Ford and sent to the dealer. If its in a pile of papers that were printed out the night before, someone could get it for you, but not everyone likes to go through other salespeople's papers. The DORA prints out for only a few reasons. 1st reason, a new order, and the DORA is sent overnight to the dealer from Ford. It is reprinted if there is a change in something. To give you an idea, I just ordered one for a customer on TMS yesterday but Ford didn't get the information in time as I put the order in during the afternoon. By the time they got it, it was too late to transmit it to me by this morning. I should have it by Monday morning.

Thanks.

The sales guy i'm working with is new and doesn't know much about the order process I don't think. Every response I've gotten from him so far are " i'll check with our fleet manager but he isn't here right now " and never gets back to me. I hate to bother them every other day because I know they'll get annoyed. It just sucks that there's no communication going on.

IF the dealer is giving you that hard of time, I would try to get my deposit back and walk.....just my thought, before I ordered mine from Team Ford here in Las Vegas, I walked out of 2 dealerships since they were giving me the round around about, they can't order them yet or "the only reason the dealerships across the country don't have the 2011's is that they are sold out." How are they sold out? Their not built until March.....so I walked...there's no shame with walking, you are spending a chunk of cash to ignore you.....again my two cents...

Absolutely correct. Source, you're spending a great deal of money at their dealership and, from what I can tell, don't seem like you're asking for much at all. The least they can do is treat you great since you are a paying customer, and you are giving them a much-needed sale.

If they don't value you, you really should just walk. There are some really great dealerships out there -- Brian (Five Oh Brian) and Jeff (05fordgt) are great examples -- that really care not only about customers but enthusiasts as well.

Being treated great is part of the customer experience -- if you're not getting it, find a dealership that will treat you good.

Sorry your dealing with a "green-pea". Just call back one day, and ask for the fleet manager. He is the one who has access to the DORAs. If he says your not allowed to have it, tell him other people who have ordered 2011s have their DORAs once they are received by the factory.

Sometimes a manager will tell the new guys he doesn't want to give them a DORA.
They have the invoice price on them and they don't even want the salesman to see them.
Ask again and say it's okay to black out any prices or ask for a VOC (Vehicle Order Confirmation)
I don't think the VOC has prices, but it should have all the info to see if it is ordered correctly.

Just think, you're giving them tens of thousands of dollars to be treated like a gnat. What do you think it will be like when you have a problem and need some advice/repair? I agree - walk away now.
