oil cools the bottom of the pistons, less chance of detnation..........

Very common in high end cars.

And what about piston pin / cylinder wall oiling vs conventional setups?

Might as well discuss splash oiling vs pressurized oiling. The Chevy Stovebolt 6 was the last splash oiled engine I can think of. You can get by with splash in some locations but dedicated delivery is almost always better.

Sounds like the OP needs to stop posting new threads here and using a little website called Google.

Here is how to use the search function on TMS:
Click on "New Topic" or "Reply" and enter your search question in the "Message" box.

Then wait 12-24 hours and your search results will come in, on that thread, by means of magic.

We are still working out the bug where half of your results will come up with things like "USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION NOOB!!!" and etc., but just ignore those, you'll find your answer somewhere in there.

Oil squirters are not radical or new components.

I question the logic used to arrive at the conclusion that Ford owners are any less diligent about oil change intervals than any other brand's driver is.

I'm guessing his green smiley meant it was TIC.

My 83 F150 4X has 254k and still pullin' stumps & skiddin' logs here at the ranch.

And I've never changed the oil...

Course that 300" I-6 doesn't have oil squirters either.

Powerstroke Diesels use oil cooling jets under the pistons. I have yet to see that system ever go bad.

Lol I actually know one that went close to 60k (being real conservative here I think it was closer to 80k) in a 99 F150 before the oil pump clogged up and started tapping before getting a real oil change. Still went 250K pulling many a vehicle. I was and am duly impressed. But he owns one of each of the big 3 so it's not a hit to a "Ford" owner.
