Picked up new 2011 GT... broke down before reaching home

"50 Miles to E" is a load of bull****. You and I both know that if there was actually only 50 miles to E, Ford would have a bunch of lawsuits from people unfit to breed that somehow think "oh, it doesn't really mean that."
Ford's new "50 Miles to E" isn't any different than the low fuel light on my SHO, which comes on with literally 5 gallons left in the tank. At 17mpg city, that's still a good 80 miles of driving, and on the highway it's 125 miles. I would honestly say that when it says it's completely empty, then you have about 50 miles left. Maybe 30.

I will write it down and have it handy when I call the dealer.
Chances are they won't have it in stock, and probably will want to "see and inspect or test" the car first, which to me pretty much means, "bring the car in so we can look it over and say, yup you need a new one of those because the one on your car was defective from the factory"
This way they can bill Ford for the "inspection" and then again for another visit for the install.
What it says to me is, "we are going to inconvenience you twice and make you bring your car in to the dealer on two separate occasions even though you and we really know what the problem is."
Other than not being able to let my car go much below 1/2 tank, it's sweet.
Got two thumbs up from two Mexican gardners in a cube truck the other day. That was unexpected.

Dudes, all it does is take your average MPG and multiply it by the amount of gas it thinks you have left, then hits the low fuel light and 50 miles to E when that number reaches 50 or less. It's not really that arbitrary.
My MPG has largely gone up since I got it, about 3-4 I'd say. Low fuel used to come up smack on 1/4 of a tank, but now waits a bit longer. I should have remember how much gas I put in after I got it down to 5 MPG once.

Still happening-Ford making GTs with same known trouble
I just did the first fill up of my gas tank after I saw my gas gauge go from one quarter left to empty in several seconds. I filled the tank and it took only 9.6 gallons!
I found out that there is a Ford TSB on this problem-TSB10-21-3 that was dated 101910 .
My GT was made on 111810-almost a month after the issuance of this TSB. It seems that either Ford built my car with a known defective fuel module/pump FPM or that the replacement FPM fuel module/pumps are defective.
This TSB says to replace the FPM with part number BR3Z-9H307-B .
Has anyone had this FPM replaced for this problem and has the problem recurred?
