To people with the base GT 18" rims

18's
20's
Which to choose? And can my existing TPMS valves be transferred to my new rims? And can I have the wheels/tires shipped to a tire shop for them to install or do they have to be shipped to my house then I drive to the tire place?

Yep some. They dont have much on tire selection. I had to go with the Summis on the 19s but they are actually not bad so far. I will up the sizes some when its time for new tires and go with a 305 or so Hancook (I have always liked their tires). I used to have 2001 s10 with the ZQ8 set up and 2" springs front and 3" blocks rear on top of that so lower profile tires dont bother me much LOL. Arkansas probably has some of the worst roads in the nation and I dont mind the 40 and 45 sidewall I have. I will try 35 or so next time and see just how much different it is.

Nope. Driven/ridden multiple 2005+ cars with 19s/20s that ride better than my 2000 with 275/40/17s on 17x9 Cobra wheels. If you don't like the look, then thats another separate (subjective) issue.
Depending on how much the wheels weigh, they will affect performance though. There are a lot more tire options for 18/20s than 19s. But with a handheld tuner you can correct the speedo for whatever size you want. You can run some fatter tires in back to soften the ride up/help with traction.
It's hard to compare the looks on the 05-09 cars to 10+. OP, check out blazeone and karnutt's cars to see 2010s with 20s. Blazeone has 20" Bullitts on GB, karnutt has 20" Shelby wheels (black with silver lip, so similar) on Torch Red.

I would say that if you are going to buy wheels, please for the love of pete have the brakes fill the openings. Nothing I hate more than PBR calipers in 20" wheels. If you're going to get 20's, get the 6 piston calipers to fit in them.
And 20's on the back brake discs look even worse.

Because the shape of the fenders, hips, black rockers and tapering rear end really make wheels take on very different looks on the 05-09 and 10+ cars.

On my 2011 the 235/50R18 fills the wheel opening a little better than the 235/55R17 on my 2007. Their is obviously a smaller gap between the top of the tire and the top of the wheel opening,
It may be the design of the rear fender with he new flare shape or the opening may be lower. I know on the 2010 the suspension actually sat 0.5" taller than the 2005-2009 because I measured from the ground to the front lower control arm mount when they first started coming in. I wanted a little stiffer rear spring without lowering as I was bottoming my rear suspension on some launches which limited me to a best of 1.83 on street tires. When you hit the snubbers hard it would cause tire spin.
It also could be that the Track Pack Rear Springs on the 2011 are actually a touch shorter although they were not advertised as such. I have noticed the Brembo cars seem to have a larger air gap. I dont know if its an optical illusion caused by squarer tire shape, different springs (they have a different part number) or the removal of the spare and jack that causes it. I dont think its the shorter sidewalls as I didnt notice the same effect on the 19" All-Seasons.
PS the 19's may be the same overall height but they are nearly an inch wider (255 vs 235).
