Painting rear diffuser with reverse sensors.....Possible Problems?

I have been wanting to paint my rear diffuser and rockers, but was wondering if I would affect the rear sensors by painting over them?

Anyone have experience with this?

I would just leave the centers of the sensors unpainted if you are concerned.

If you don't want them to work any more, feel free to paint over them.

No direct experience, but from what I'm told you can paint the bezel around the actual inner sensor itself but not the sensor. But a body guy I spoke to said they could paint the sensors as well but they need to disassemble them and paint the bezels In normal fashion and the sensors themselves can be painted but have to keep the paint to a certain thickness (15 or so microns thick). This will probably cost money.

Oh and it also depends on the technology used.

As per Ford Parts cataloging the RETAINER or BEZEL is Paint to Match. It is separate from Actual sensor so you need To Remove sensor and Simply Paint the Retainer.
