Should be pretty soon. In more than one of the first drive articles the authors hinted at comparison tests coming up.

Safe to say both Mustang and Camaro fans are not the only ones eagerly waiting for the results.

I don't see why we don't have one already if they have access to both cars.

This was a closely controled two day press event. Looking at all the videos it at times looked like follow the leader.

The cars mags will want to get the cars at their home office, test them at their own test track.

And they will want to take a 500 mile tour through amish country or death valley or some other crazy local to add "flavor" to the article. This will also allow the challenger to win the three way test because it has the biggest trunk.

they'll go more in depth compared to the joe-shomoe car-rags. 5.0 and MM&FF are geared to the worshipers of the Mustang throne like us who want real track times, real dyno numbers and no BS

I have already read some reviews that compared drag times of both cars. The only downside is was they were both at airports, and thus not ideal conditions, but represent real world conditions. I think we all know which one was faster.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ak4HZa90PQM skip to 8 minutes, they also ran 1/8 mile.

Many of the other articles talk about the maro times, motortrend for ex., but they never mention actually driving it again, an so they are probably just quoting a previous test.

Unless there are some drastic changes to the 2011 SS, I don't really see it pulling ahead of the 5.0 in numbers due to the weight difference of the two. And if the SRA is as good as one mag(I forget which one) says as compared to the IRS, GM will have to make some changes there as well just to help it along with all the other non-1320 tests.

I don't like the Camaro, but I do think the LS3 is more capable when modding. Simple cam swaps, lots of head and intake choice. We don't even have 3v heads yet other than P&P FRPP stockers.

Anyone who talks crap about the LS3 is an idiot who knows nothing about engines.

That said, what can Chevy do? Not sure, their car isn't as well sorted as the stang. It's just an engine with a dull car wrapped around it and an uninspiring chassis.

Totally agree about that LS3 motor, my friend's got a 2010 SS and he's thinking about a future cam swap when i get my 2011 GT. Lots of potential in that motor, remember no replacement for displacement. It's just asleep right now. Stock to stock, the 'Stang is a much more well balanced car with a better chassis. OK,ok it doesn't have the IRS. But it handles so well with that SRA set up that to me it is not worth bringing up any argument over it. We shall see what changes they come up with for the 2011 year model.

My only point is that the surface was not prepared like the strip. And not burnouts permitted.

watch the MT 0-60 run on concrete, the car leaves rubber on the tarmac for ALL of 1st gear and they still ran it in 4.3 secs

not saying that too much more can be paired off 0-60 but something was def. left on the table as far as E.T. in the 1/4 mile if you're leaving with wheelspin in ALL of 1st gear
