Ok to drive 2 miles with mufflers removed?
Ok kinda embarrassing.
I got my stock mufflers removed with little effort on my 2k11 GT - but I am totally unable to get the new SVT mufflers on, those **** hangers are too hard to get.
I even removed the hangers brackets but that was no good either (Anybody know the torque specs for the brackets bolts?)
So is it ok to drive 2 miles to the muffler shop with them removed? I don't want to damage anything.
By the way it sounds outstanding muffler less!

Be sure to get plenty of fresh air into the cabin. Not having the mufflers, on a cold engine, will not allow the converters to convert the carbon monoxide, which is way worse than carbon dioxide and water.
It's *possible*, therefore, to have that trapped and seep up into the cabin, unless you just don't stop moving.
Other than that, no problem, roll it.

Really??? No offense, but if you can't manage to install an axleback, I'd suggest you get everything installed. Installing the axleback is by far one of the easiest things to do on these cars, other than opening the gas cover.

Let me give you a hint, go out and buy a set of ratcheting wrenches. These will make getting to the hangers that much easier.
Save the $100 and put it towards tools to make the job easier.
Spray the hangers down with WD-40 or some other type of lube and they will slip on and off VERY easy. Wipe it off when done and you should have no trouble. It just takes patience and you'll get it off without a problem.

IIRC, one of the tricks of the 1st 5.0 to make it into the 10's with bolt-ons was to remove the tailpipes to just after of the H and put downturns right there.
