The Official Name Thread
Great thread.. I've had names for all my cars.. My 96 Black cobras' name was Nina.. My Black 86 GT was named Charise.. Whats funny is that I usually take the initiative to name our rides right after we get them. Anyways, right after coming out of the dealership, my 11 year old daughter rode back with me and the first thing she did was name it. Out of nowhere. She was like " Daddy, what should we name her?" I was like "already?".. She goes "Yea, I think she's a Sara.." Needless to say, she named her Sara..
We decided to name him the "CalStang", from both California and MuStang aka the "CAL".
It is a simple and yet a very unique name for displaying our GT/CS at the car-shows.
"RC"
P.S. Had to change the spelling "CALSTNG" to fit the name on our Iowa tags. A seven letter limit here.

Since Sync forced the issue I came up with "George", as in "(This will be the) The Summer of George!" (Seinfeld reference) since I took delivery on June 9th. As well, the Whitehouse and the GW monument are kind of white. And then finally there's the Daffy Duck cartoon where the giant picked up Daffy and said something like, "...and I will love him and squeeze him and pet him and pat him...and call him GEORGE!"
Sorry if that's too weird. Like I said, Syncmyride forced the issue. I don't normally name my cars, but sometimes they name themselves or it just comes about naturally:
- My '06 Accord V6 was the "AV6"
- My '72 Corvette convertible was "the 'vette" (creative aren't I?)
- My 1985 IROC-Z with B-W T5 custom fitted to the LB9 TPI V8 & custom PROM chip (my 1st experience with microchip hot-rodding) was the "IROCKET". Got it on a license plate as soon as Virginia passed the law allowing 7 letters on a plate, and it looked way too much like "1ROCKET". Oh well...
- My (& wife's) gas-swilling 1997 Expedition 4x4/EB was the "Pigspedition", or "PIG" for short. We loved the 'Pig. One of Ford's best IMHO (except for its gas appetite).
- My 1993 Dodge Dakota was the P.O.S.

We had this white '82 Ford Granada, I think was the year. Whenever my dog got loose and ran the neighborhood, my dad could fire this thing up and drive the hood and 'ol' Deputy Dawg'd come darting straight to it to go for a ride. My dog loved that car. It's name:
"The Bomb"
my dad called it that because time was tickin ever so close to when it was ready to just fall apart so many things went wrong w/it.

2007 GT/CS: Seven (1. Bought it 7/7/07 2. Seinfeld reference, name George wanted to give his first born 3. Seven deadly sins 4. It's like my 7th child)
2010 Raptor 6.2L: El Diablo (1. It's orange and evil 2. Another Seinfled reference from when Puddy paints his face for hockey game "Gotta support the team.")
1996 White Ford Bronco: O.J. (everybody always says it's an OJ Bronco)
1991 5.0 LX Vert: Vert (not very imaginative I know)
2000 Cobra R: R (no names, just a single letter to describe this one)
2007 Expedition EL: Land Yacht (wife's car, drives like a block of wood)

Thanks! We've had an eclectic mix, but I somehow managed to say Ford Blue. 'Ceptin' the Motorcycle, Ford doesn't make something like the PC800. Yet (one never knows...)
Thanks! Oh, wait, you were probably talkin' about Eric's other bit of posting.

Neat. We had a cat named Pinemont who if I wanted her home, I'd shake the Friskies bag, and she'd be home in about 5 minutes or less. Better than Dominos.
But really, this reminded me of...
Our dog, a chihuahua mix I named Spirit ('cause she loved chasing bikes and had a lotta spirit, when she was young)... uh, anyway, we somehow figured out that she liked riding motorcycles. Guess that explains the chasing bikes thing.
My bro's Venture would come down two blocks away, and that dog would hear it, and wind up yapping at the door because she knew he was on his way. She liked him a lot. Well, it was decided that we'd take her with us on a little ride. I held her as the pax, and he drove. She really seemed to like it. Way too much to ignore. So then he figured out a way to make a dog bed 'seat' for her to ride the pillion with, with little side panels to keep her in. Not that she needed them.
But then, Mom couldn't ride the motorcycle. So he put, on the top case, another case with a hole cut out of it, with a cut off old visor from a helmet, and put the bed in that. And they'd take off to parts unknown, Bro, Mom, and Spirit... with Spirit *standing up* in the thing... at 70MPH.
That dog loved riding about, and *LOVED* the motorcycling. She was infamous in the club.
And she liked Dr. Pepper, but we didn't give her that all the time. Just a treat.
Anyway, I know, cool story bro. Just hadda share.
/Spirit lived to be 20.5 years. That was some dog.
//Then there's Daisy... but that's for another time. She didn't ride motorcycles.
