Odd behavior of trip meter on reset

I refueled today and when I went to reset the trip meter I must have done something odd. Superimposed over the trip meter display was an orange bordered rectangle with a pause symbol in it. I went through the reset process several times and tried shutting down and restarting the car. No difference. Then I shut it down while waiting for my wife to finish some shopping and when I restarted it the display was normal. Any ideas what I did?

Mine does that if I don’t hold the button down properly. It’s a “pause” feature.

I am guessing since this is posted in this section the "feature" is on the 2010-2014 models? So the big question is how do you get in and especially out of the pause mode? Have not seen this myself.

Normally, you hold down the button on the steering wheel for 3 seconds to reset the trip odometer. If you simply press and release the button instead of holding it down, you pause the trip odometer. Pressing again resumes it.

Right out of the Manual like SpectreH said
TRIP COMPUTER (Trip A and B) Resetting or Pausing the Trip Computer • Press OK to pause the Trip A or B screen, press again to un-pause. • Press and hold OK to reset the currently displayed trip information.
