No one has any clue !

Driving around in the 5.0 most people do not even have a clue that this car was even coming out or even can tell the difference between the '10 and '11 unless they really check out the badges.
Had one guy ask why i put 5.0 badges on my '10. Had a Camaro driver say nice car to bad it has a measly 4.6 in it. Im like dude look at the badges.
Unless you are a car junky the average person does not know the difference. I have a Daycare and all the people have seen my '08 for 2 yrs. Now they have seen the '11 and not one has said anything about it thinking its the '08 still.
I think the new body style should have gone hand in hand with the new drive trains as we are just lumped in with the '10's according to the general public.

Let them live in their own little worlds. It will just confuse them more at the light.

If Ford would play GT commercials like they play the Dubs edition commercials, people may know better...

As much as I like the 5.0 badges if I owned a 2011 I'd put the 05-10 "GT" badges on it. I just reaaly like the look of the GT badges.

Yea, I hear ya. I mean just yesterday, I was gasing up my 10, and the guy was like, "oh man, is that like a special edition? Like a Saleen or something?" I'm like, no, just a regular GT... And dude is like, "oh man, looks like an aftermarket edition or you totally went all out on it."

Then I had to get into this whole big convo on how it's the 2010, and the body style changed over and this and that... and he couldn't grasp how there are already 2011's out...

I can appreciate his willingness to give a compliment, but yea- the generic public, haven't a clue.

No biggie tho.

And here I thought that you were going to rant about Ford and its dealer network, upon reading the title to this thread.

Question

The average person never knew the 5.0 ever went away.
I had a guy tell me last week that he got a 2003 Crown Vic and they come with a 5.0 V8 in them.
All totally non-car people know is V8, six cylinder and 4 banger.

Just another reason to get a mustang. My camaro was parked next to, dinged, starred at, couldn't leave the gas station. The mustang will get less attention and people won't bother me.

I like it.. makes it sort of a sleeper. Your average Camaro driver will think it's just 300+ hp nothing to worry about but little do they know it's a lot more than that

Recently I had a couple of yahoos ask me if I had a 351 in my car. I told them it had a 4.6 and they had no idea what that was. When I had a V6 Mustang people thought it was a V8 and now that I have a V8 people ask me if I have a V6. Most people have no clue about cars.

Not a big deal. It's just like the difference between the I4 and V6 Accords. The only difference is a V6 badge on the rear (or it was).

I had someone ask me that about my 2002 last summer. It'd be even more funny had I been in my '89.

I want to write something here about how the world is filled with so many idiots and clueless morons who are so out of touch with reality for not knowing anything about the new 5.0 badges and engine on the 2011 Mustang, but for some logical reason it just feels wrong!

I feel for ya man! I hope you make it though this injustice of society’s ignorance that you've had to experience! I hope you'll be ok! We're here for ya man! Hang in there!
