No, this is the same 5.0L DOHC DI V8 we've been talking about from the beginning.

It's nice for Essex to get the 5.0

They did ramp up production on the 4.6 3v we know and love before Romeo got it tooled and running.

Sounds like there will be multiple variations of the 5.0 too...

Not really, if this were a pushrod 5.0L engine the only way you would see 400hp and the kind of fuel economy this is supposed to knock down in the same package is if the car came with a 75hp shot sitting in the trunk.

Tru'dat, one has just to look at GM and thier 400hp+ engines, with the exception of the the C5 Z06 and its 5.7 LS6, all of GM's regular offerings have been big inch motors.

The chassis is amazing compared to the old one, and is still a great platform.

The engine for 2010... what do you think the 5.0 is?
It'll be all of the good learned from the 4.6/5.4 and improves appon the stuff that made them bad. It is not and I repeat NOT just a bumped 4.6 mod
I agree. It gives the car a personality no other car has(as hard as other automakers have tried to have something as desirable as a Mustang in their line-several haven simply given up on trying to sell a sport coupe altogether). Snobbish auto 'journalists' are pretty much idiots anyway. Nobody has ever been able to dethrone Mustang, the new Camaro and Challenger aren't going to hurt Mustang sales, never have, never will. And when a family comes into the dealer and their 5 year olds run up to any Mustang in the showroom, doesn't look like much is going to change anytime soon. You never see them race across a parking lot to a used civic. Personally I like the instant power of the SRA and its 'beat-the-crap-out-of-me' toughness. Changing it to please critics would just turn it into another Japanese foo-foo anonymous 'sporty coupe' that only lets you know its a 'sports' car by putting a ton of badges on the back saying so that nobody will remember in 10 years.
