New Red Candy? (RZ vs U6)
Does anyone know if the new Red Candy is solid or metallic?.. or lighter or darker? edit: apparently no differance..
As of Oct. 2011 Red Candy Metallic Tint (U6) was balanced out and replaced with Red Candy Tint (RZ).. even on the 12's
Looks like Ford used color code RZ in 1986 and it was called Milano Red, Non-Metallic. edit: still metallic

The U6 red candy had some component of the pigment or some such come from the earthquake zone in Japan. So my guess is there was a vendor change or a change in formulation that allows it to come from more vendors. If done correctly there should be no difference in appearance.
What a code was in 1986 is meaningless. The codes are lucky to be consistent within a few years let alone over 20.
Lava red was pretty short lived... that would have been a rare color to have... although I didn't like it all that much.

I would have preferred a very dark green metallic, that not being available and the blue wayyyyyy too common I went with the candy red metallic. I like the darker red candy metallic of a few years ago more because well.. it is darker
