I hope something new comes along. I like watching the evolution of the emblem.

I'm not sure if I like the New Edge or S197 better though

It would probably be chiseled in some way like the new horse emblem!

I was at the Wendy's drive thru grabbing me a salad. These two very young kids probably 8 to 11 tops were walking by when the older of the two said, "Oooh! There's my favorite car. I like the color too.(windveil blue) OOOH! And it's a GT!" Yep. those two letters say it all, in by book. And what trip me out is these were little kids! Of the NOPI/ricer generation! And there's nothing on the car that says Mustang! That put a BIG grin on my chin.

WTF??? Ive had both an 83GT and an 85GT and NEVER heard of a 2.3L being called a GT....

That would have to be someone sticking the GT (badges) on them.

Oh it's true alright. In 83 Ford added the Turbo GT with a re engineered version of the "Lima" four which was developed for the 83 T-Bird. The engine put out 145hp/180lb-ft. They looked pretty much identical to V8 GTs except for a little red "Turbo" after the GT emblem. Being slower and a little more expensive than the regular GT meant they didn't sell very well. Hence the reason you may not have heard of them. Only about 33,000 convertibles and hatches were produced over the two years.

ohhhh man,,, some of the pictures just in this thread bring back some fond memories...

Like I said, I had an 83 GT, red sunroof, and an 85 GT white with t-tops....that was like some 15 years ago....

I almost bought an 02 GT, but the guy wanted more then I had and said no to my offer... BOY am I glad he did... cuz I went out and bought an 06 pony package and couldnt be happier!!!!!

my plans for now are to sell my bike, and build a 34 ford street rod.... that is till the other day I spotted a 72 Mustang Grande sittin in a parking lot... The tabs on the plate are 3 years old... I dont know why its there,,, im thinking of asking if its for sale... My very first car was a 72 Grande 351C 2V auto, brown w/brown vinyl top and slotted mags...... decisions,,, decisions!!!
