Yes, that was a decent issue. Have it at the house.

I thought Coyote was going to fix the 100mm bore spacing of the 4.6 but that article says it has the same spacing. It is a great engine but leaves nothing on the table in terms of ability to increase displacment...

They had to maintain the 4.6 bore spacing so it could be produced on the same machinery as the 4.6, otherwise cost would have been prohibitive and they wouldn't have made the new motor.

Oh, well, sucks they couldn't have larger spacing, but glad to have the new coyote!

What do you want a bigger motor for?

The new 5.0 is going to be good for close to 500 HP normally aspirated before they are through, it's already doing better than 430 HP in its present state.

Torque.

500HP is so 2004 too. Having a 700HP N/A motor would be awesome. That's near NASCAR specs in a streetable engine.

A 5.8L version of this motor would be one to get fo' sho'. If you want big power, you aren't getting it with this engine or a 4.6/5.4 unless supercharged. I'd like to see Ford have an N/A application capable of huge power.

Actually they do with the 6.2L Boss motor (to bad its a big ol' honk'n cast iron engine). The 2v SOHC with the 6.2L's bore nearly match the 4v heads on the 5.0L in flow.

That engine would be beast with a 4v VVT setup like the 5.0 (provided it was all aluminum and came at the same weight or lighter than the 5.4 in the '11 GT500)

Was thinking the same thing. If Ford can make the TiVCT 5.0 do what it does, a all aluminum DOHC 32V 6.2L Boss could really put the hurt on the LS family in terms of power output. For bragging rights only. Don't know how they could shoehorn that into a Mustang w/out making too many compromises.

For the zillionth time, too bad for you. Ford's in business to sell as many Mustangs as possible, and the vast majority of buyers, even enthusiasts, don't want an engine carrying around 2 liters worth of extra un-milled weight just so you can bore it out. This engine has plenty of opportunity for modding outside the realm of displacement, and if that's not enough then buy something HERE and stop whining.
