Center Vents...

They switched to rectangular vents so as to have more room for the Nav.
Quick sketch to show the room they saved...

Kind of looks like the center vents in a Ford Fusion.

I read a magazine article Motor Trend? Road&Track? that basically said that the interior was going to be more driver focused. I'm thinking better placement of things (pedals, HVAC,radio controls, better visability for the tac, speedo) tilted more to the drivers side kinda like the current Vette or 4th gen F-Bodies. I also think that the new square vents are directly related to Ford wanting better placement for future Nav screens. On a side note rumors are that Ford is rumored to continue to produce the GT500 into the next bodystyle and that the current KR's 540HP will be the standard output of the next gen GT500.

I'm not liking the vents at all but then again, i'd have to see the whole interior.

And I'm not thrilled with the round vents going away, either.
Yep! I will repeat myself again, and say that I am worried.

Since 1982, Ford has always done a very good job of updating the look of the Mustang. But.....I am having doubts about this 2010, both inside & out.

I'm not the slightest bit worried. I heard this same sort of panic when he 99 Stang was coming out. It's design as held up far better than almost anyone expected.

I agree with "302SVT" it looks like a Ford Fusion... I have a 08 mustang and an 08 Fusion, The round vents look much better, not to mention extra easy to adjust/open/close.

I did a chop of the dash....relocated some of the lower controls, put the NAv higher, thinned the console, put a roll-top over the cup holders etc.

Cool

Now ... (knowing my luck for wishful thinking) watch those fools offer at best some goofy V-6 unless you're willing to pay current Shelby prices/AMD(s) just for a 3.9 or 4.6 V-8 ...
