New Concept or Old Concept

New Concept or Old Concept
I have never seen these pictures. I'm sure they've been posted on here before, but I was curious if it was a new concept or the concept for the current model. Either way it's pretty sharp IMO.

It might be coming up for 4 years old, but that concept still looks superb. Don't forget, this was actually designed after the '05 design was signed off so I guess, in a way, it points to how J Mays saw the design developing.
If the '09 model looked 100% like this, I'd be over the moon.

Don't know if these guys are blowing smoke or know something we don't.
They claim the 2009 Stang will have the Guigiaro front end with the same back end and the major Stang update won't arrive until 2012. (half way through the video). I tend to think they read some TMS stuff and made the rest up.

I don't buy that those guys are all up to date. For one, those "Z9" pics are discredited by alot of other journalists as being of a heavily disquised Z4 replacement, not the Z9.
Seconly, no way in hell the Z9 would use the turbo-6 when the M's V10 and new V12 are out there to be had. They basically just rambled off every high-performance BMW engine and put a "maybe" next to each.
Finally, they based their "nose only" comments for the 2009 purely on pictures of one test mule with a camo Nose. "Airflow and cooling testing," anyone? By that logic the current Mustang should be just an 04 with a new body. Can't basse all your predictions on one Mule, people.

I agree, those guys are a pretty poor excuse for automotive journalists. They don't seem to even know what a test mule is, which is why I said I thought they were making up most of their report.

I wish Ford would stop trying to put curves into the design of the Mustang! The 'Stang looks awesome with the rigid, angular design of the S197.
Curves mean aerodynamics and luxury. Sharp lines and angles give the look of aggressive power.
Besides, the concept design above looks like an Aston-Martin humped a Subaru. The Guigiaro design looks like something the Mazda design team thought up.
