A new 5.0 member from Germany / Introduction - Pics
Hi out there,
just want to introduce myself as a new 2011 GT member from overseas. ( I already did this in the introduction area)
My Name is Dennis and i´m a 36 years old (hobby) road racing enthusiast.
I "felt in love" with american muscle cars, when i was kid, ´cause of the us army based nearby. So i grow up with the sound of V8s.
After several stays in the US since 1995 i drove every kind of rental car from Trailblazer to Chrysler Sebring, but the last years stay played a decisive role in thoughts for a new car.
We rent a 2011 mustang convertible and enjoyed it for two weeks. From that moment it was clear....we need a Mustang at we need it now but not a convertible and not a V6... just something you can use everyday and on track.
So we ordered a 2011 GT with the Brembo Package last october from a local importeur here in Germany.
My german friends called me crazy when i told them to buy a Ford Mustang for the next season. Most comments were...." a Mustang is nothing for road racing" ... " stay with BMW" ... "a live axle is something from the sixties"... and all that "blablabla".....
The "stang" was built in december and arrived here 10 weeks ago.... together with all my orders from several shops. My wife called me .
After another two weeks everthing was installed and ready to hit the track
Roll-out was at the Formula 1 Track in Hockenheim. That day was amazing.... for me ......and the others.
Hehe and now after some Trackdays all that european and asian car guys i know are asking for a place at the passengers seat.... that speaks for itself
I hope my introduction was short enough and not difficult to understand.

Cheers Dennis

Thank you guys for the "warm" welcome.

It´s hard to screw myself,´cause my daily is a BMW . But since the stang is here, i hate to drive it. But i´m doing 120 Miles a day so the BMW with the 3 liter diesel engine is the better choice.
@ HoosierDaddy
I´m working on it. Last sunday i did 2 turns with a friend who´s driving a 335i on "the Ring". He was really impressed and ready to change.
But there ´re still things to do, i got the well known problems with the manuel transmission (noise and probs between 1st and 2nd gear) and some noise at the driveshaft.
The brake cooling thing has to be finished. I murdered the stock brake pads ´cause of heat while track-driving.
Not that big things, but work that has to be done.

Dennis,
FIRST: Great looking car.
SECOND: I salute your commitment to American Muscle. There are so many fantastic German cars and I'm sure the cost of importing a Mustang makes it a very expensive passion.
THIRD: Your English is better than many/most who post on this board.
FOURTH: Welcome to the world of mustangs. It's awesome that our passion has an ambassador of your high standards there.
FINALLY: Are you finding your watts link a good investment? Do you think it makes a significant difference on street driven cars?

Welcome aboard! What a testament to how admired these new 5.0's are.
Importing a car to Germany must not have been cheap. I'm assuming you could have got the new V8 M3 for the same or possibly cheaper after all associated fees.
Great choice in car!
What do you have planned for sway bars?

Incredible pictures. Killer to see the Mustang on the ring and any other track for that matter. It just looks so at home being driven hard. With all that Europe offers, there are very few that make such an exhaust note like the Mustang. All I can recall is the Maserati GT and Morgan Aero 8 comes close but is still no cigar.
Congradulations and welcome to TMS!
My wife won't let me track our 335i nor join the BMW Club of America...sad.

A mustang with just fogs on looks so at home hunting down cars on the track!
Looks amazing, and glad to see a 'stang on the ring.
Also, your videos have made me confident I will love the sound of the GT500 mufflers.
