New 305-HP Engine, 6-Speed Transmission Expected to Deliver 30MPG Highway
The Ford spec sheet says this 2011 v6 has "base curb weight estimated 3750" for coupe and 4000 for vert. Uhhhh that doesn't sound good, hopefully it is in error.

Great for all the potential new V6 owners but really sucks for the 2010 owners. Why wouldnt they release a new engine with the new design? Its bad business and Im sure there are alot of pissed off owners. Im assuming the GT will get bumped as well and being more performance oriented owners again great for 2011 GT owners and Im sure real angry 2010 GT owners. But they can redeem themselves: give the 2010 GT owners a chance to upgrade to a FRPP Whipple upgrade with warranty at COST

Or that is the new 'Cement block' option
WAY too high.
I don't even think the 5L will weigh that much.
So either they delay the car, and put the 2 together....
...delay the engine till its right, and force people to upgrade if they are power hungry.

Borrowing from the Mustang GT, the Performance Package includes numerous suspension, braking and body stiffening upgrades to deliver unparalleled handling performance. That road-holding is helped by a near-equal front/rear weight distribution, providing exceptional transient response along with the car’s slimmed-down curb weight of less than 3,500 pounds
Now lets look at a Camaro V-6 at 3,770 lbs. and 304hp vs. a Mustang V-6 at 3,500 lbs. and 305 hp. Camaro at 12.4lb. per 1 HP, Mustang at 11.47lb. per 1 HP. That is a pretty big jump folks! I don't know who on this forum spread the 315hp rumor though it turned out to be false, but spread to every internet site on the web 2 months ago. I commented that they needed to hit 30 MPG a few months ago as well. Kudos to Ford.
Just sayin.
And really if not, you're gonna miss 10hp? I guarentee you wouldn't even notice if you had it or didn't up top.
Buy an exhaust and stop eating Dunkin's....

Its actually good for business. If it never happened we would all be still using rotary dial phones, Beta VCRs, Commodore Vic 20s and other archaic devices so people wouldn't get their panties in a bunch everytime that technology became obsolete.
Let's just say they had upgraded the powertrains for 2010. Why would I want to upgrade to a 2011?
Sorry if I'm making more out of this than it should be, but I've been reading posts lately where people either say that Ford can't get it right or that its about time that they did. I just ask myself,"where have these people been for the last year to 2 years?"
A lot of people are eating Crow now!
Look at the 04 GTO to the 05. 350HP 5.7L to 400HP 6.0L. Ford's jump is even more. 04 GTO's had a huge resale loss as will 2010 GT's and sixxers. I think we are going to see ADM's on these cars. When the 05 GT came out $5k ADM's were common.
Wow, we have come a long way since the 88hp 2.3L 4 banger as the base engine!
This is going to be a hard one to pass up being that there is no longer the "either/or" concerning practicality and performance.
I can't wait to see the jaws drop over in the Camaro camp when these things start getting reviewed, and we find out what they can actually do.
