And besides, the 2004 concept also didn't have hips either

You mean the MKS, right?

The MKZ is Lincoln version of the Fusion, originally called Lincoln Zephyr.

Yes, but the MKZ is not driving around Dearborn without camoflague. It has not been revealed. The MKS, which has already been introduced, are driving all over the place. I saw one in the same blue he mentioned the other day.

Okay we get the point but he was talking about the MKZ

I tend to agree. I think I must be one of the few that don't particularly like the GT500's front fascia though. I would much prefer the fogs in the grill rather than the bumper, personally. I do think the fogs on the current GT are a bit too big and would like to see ones somewhere between the size of the GT's and those of the V6 Pony Package.

Uh, not much of one. Use that thing called your imagination. Like I said, based on the 2004, the 2010 will be more aggressive and angular and come closer to the lines of the present GT500. Stuff that has been mentioned ages ago by Ford themselves. This version will also cue-up the Boss as a natural shoe-in to fit the new style as well.

Touchy-touchy. Yep, the 2010 MKZ was be on stage with the 2010 Mustang. But,,this was a closed-door meeting only available to Ford employees. Therefore, its impossible he saw any 2010 Z's driving around in baby blue color in Dearborn. That car is the S. The only 2010 MKZ's driving around are prototypes in white/black pattern camo, since they have not been officially revealed.
So he wasn't talking about the MKZ, he was talking about the MKS, but was confused by the similar names, and thought the car in the article was the MKS he was seeing on the street. Not so.
The point I am making is regarding the new Lincoln names. I have seen banner ads saying MKX when they're showing a pic of the MKZ. No one knows the difference. Its all over the place.
Any way, since we have gotten so , perhaps we can get back to M-U-S-T-A-N-G.
Nice avatar rendering by the way....

Smooth does not equal sharp angles.
It'll look closer to the angled cuts/lines on the guigiaro.
I think your imagination ran away

Looks like. But thankfully it is going to avoid using anything like those terrible headlight buckets we saw on the Guigario concept.
Also, am I the only one who think it's a bit odd that some folks keep rattling on about the 70-inspired front fascia when, arguably, only the turn signals themselves are inspired by that model year? Heck, for that matter even the location of those turn signals is completely different than the location of the vents on the 1970 model which lent inspiration.
Given what we can see the front clip looks far more like a modern rendition of a 67-69 model with a set of 70 inspired turn signals thrown onto the inside of the buckets. And to be blunt I'm glad of it, because while the usage of those turn signals is clever and a nice nod to the past the reality is that the 70 model is likely the least attractive of the 65-70 model cars....the bucket headlight styling of the 65-69 model year cars just worked better IMHO.

I agree with you the current body style and the upcoming 2010 reflect the cars from the 60's. From what I have seen and what I presume is under the camo, I see a modern interpretation of the offspring of a 68 and a 69. But who really knows.

That's because Fabrizio Giugiaro, ( not the same guy as his father, Giorgio who did beautiful Alfas and Lamborghinis in the 60s ) used the 2010 design and "exaggerated" it ( or so I am told by some former schoolmates who work@ Ford. ) The 2010 was not copied from the Giugario- it was the other way around.

That's so cool! A famous italian designer copied little ol' FoMoCo's design and put a nice little italian twist in it. Nice to know that Ford actually has a solid idea good enough to be copied by others.

IIRC Ford started talking to Guigiaro around the time that the 2004 Concept was shown or the 2005 production was shown. (one of those autoshows)
At that point the design for the 2010 look was all but locked.

Needs to be more Astony
Funny thing is even though the design was supposed to be locked, after the ford guys saw the camaro concept they had to change the car because it looked almost identical.

I don't know if they changed anything...
I remember them saying that people would think they ripped GM off because the cues/looks extremely similar.
I don't know if they went back to the drawing board. It still sounds like the same design. Should ask someone who was at the focus group eons ago if its the same or different.
