Need new seats

Shopping for new seats for my 2010GT (standard). I think I want to stay with cloth so that they will match the rear cloth seat, which I see no reason to change. Funny thing is, I looked on ebay and found Mustang car seats at $200 a pair, which I imagine are not any better than what I have now, maybe worse, and Recaros at $1800 a pair, and not a lot in between, price-wise. How is this possible? I would have though ebay would at least suggest something at, say, $750/pair, but if it's there I don't see it.

I'm not a racer by any stretch LOL, just want to be sitting in fresh and comfortable new seats. Any suggestions? I was just sure I wanted leather until I started thinking more about it, and now I am pretty sure that I don't, since it would require changing the never-used back seat as well in order for all to match.

Thanks,

Rob in Texas

Well, I guess I answered my own question. American Muscle has these which look decent at $599/pair.

These are presumably better than the $200/pair seats I see new on ebay. They don't say "Recaro" on them but I don't know why I have to have Recaros anyway.

If the eBay ones were OEM or Ford Racing, they are compatible with the factory side airbag which might make a difference to you.

Have you checked out any auto upholstery shops in your area?

Try TMI. They make covers/padding that use your stock seats as the base. I've been thinking about it since I'm underwhelmed by the crappily-bolstered stock seats.

If your not going with Recaro's look at getting your old seats redone. They should have different foam if you want softer or firmer seats. You could get color matched stitching if that's your thing!

Is the foam shot? You can replace the cloth pretty easily your self and fairly cheap to. I just put heated seat elements in mine and taking the leather off was really easy.
