The 2010 GT is recommended to run on regular.
With all my Mods I get 28.9 MPG hwy. According to the computer at cruise at 62mph. over an 80 mile stretch. Normally driven tho city/hwy combo- I get 15.9

Here's the vid of the 2010 GT vs 2011 V6

If you can finagle the GT at 30k out the door go for it, I'd at least make an offer on it.

I don't trust the computer allways go by miles driven versus actual gallons consumed
example my trip computer said I only got 24.6 mpg on my trip yet when I filled up I used exactly 14.5 gallons to go 425 miles
Edit really I thought the 2010 gts having the bullit tuning&intake we're recomended to use premium to achieve the factory numbers? And your car does not count sir because your modded and a better flowing intake and a leaned out fuel curve in your tune will give you better fuel mileage

Yeah at 25 and male if you have anything on your record its gonna make a difference I am 27 clean record no tickets in the last 4 years and the 2010 gt was $18 more a month and the 5.0 would have been $27 more a month not horrible but still a difference

I had the same question, you can see what I went with, and I'm happy with the choice. Gas mileage on the 2010 GT is better than you might expect -- I can easily beat the 24 MPG highway number in mixed highway/back-roads driving; in my mixed commute (50 miles one way, with about 7 total stop lights/signs and a lot of easy cruising) I have seen over 27 MPG round trip. It won't match the 30+ that I'd probably get with the V6, but it's closer than the ratings might suggest.

(before anyone asks, yes I have checked the computer against measured/calculated, and it has always been very close -- within a few tenths)

One important note: the price on the 2010 GT should be about $8K below the original sticker, net after everything . . . that will put it right in the same price ballpark, or maybe less, than a comparable 2011 V6. One main reason that I bought the GT over the new V6 is that the price was actually lower. (I bought mine used with 7K miles on it, and it is a very basic GT Premium)

That said, the 2011 V6 would be a great car too . . .

Sit down with wife/GF/best buddy and over a cold beverage bounce some ideas off them. Next day go to dealer and tell him what YOU WANT. 2011 is the way to go. I myself wouldn't pay new car price for a 10 now that the 11's are out so should you decide on a '10 tell him to take out his sword and slash the price to the bone. (bone = below sticker) You drive a '10 off the lot they better be selling it **** cheap cause the value gonna go down quicker than a you know what. Remember the '11's are out. As for the '11, Get what ever options you want and if you want blue, tell him you want blue. None of that blue or yellow wishy washy crap. You are buying a new car, not a $5 shirt you may never wear again. Make your best deal, and don't be afraid to ask for anything you want, and most of all don't pay for anything you don't want. Ask your bank for 2%, if they say no so what, but they might say OK. I asked for $500.00 and got it. Asked for lower interest rate at the bank and got it. If you have to wait for a car, then you have to wait, suck it up. Sorry to be crude, but that salemans job is to sell you a car and get as much money out you that he can. Your job is to buy a new car that you want and go home with as much in your pocket as you can. Leave your feeling at home and go do battle, GRRRRRR!

Most important and do not forget this. When you get it post some pictures and none of that it rained, my camera is broke, cell phone don't have a flash BS.

Good Luck and I hope you make the best choice and deal for YOU.

V6 if you want good mileage, 6-speed, and better resale value ratio.

V8 if you want better sound and slightly more power.

I could buy a base 5.0 if I want to, but it'd be pushing the limits of my budget. Instead, I will buy a nice V6 with performance package and add all the exterior mods/exhaust/drop to it so it'll be a dope looking vehicle - and still come out ahead financially. 305 HP is more than enough for me and the V6 stigma doesn't bother me.

I drive a lot in city, almost never on highway. I fill up every week. I'm already spending a little over $200 ($3.15 - $3.20 range for .87 here) on gas a month. The V6's gas mileage is very appealing about now.

Welp, either way I think overall you will be happy.

The 2011 does offer a lot of new tech under the hood and it's very enticing.

For me, unfortunately, I am out of this game for another couple of years. Just couldn't get the numbers to a comfortable level. So what am I going to do? Pay down some other debt and buy a used car with a 6 speed and practice on it for a couple years and pick up a 2011/2012 slightly used for less than I would pay with my X-Plan and with goodies and I don't even have to be stressed about it.

Have fun.

Big poppa you are hilarious but oh so true! Ok so I went to the dealer and that ***** #@#%ER wasted my time!!! I was using x-plan so then he took the 2,500 promo that they are doing with 10' Gt's now and said this is the price. I looked at him and said cut the @#$@! There are 5 5.0's on the lot and I am not gonna pay 31,893 after TTF for a 10' GT with glass roof and leather interior when I can get much more for a 11'! I told him these thing should be practically given away to me because of the 11's being readily available. Should cut a third off da price!!!! So needless to say I left extremely pissed! So looks like i will be ordering my yellow blaze with MCA package and comfort package with a glass roof whenever job 2 is ready! which happens to come out to 32,000 after TTF I believe and I think thats before x-plan! (:
