I have a 2012 GT in the candy red metallic. The first time my rear right bumper got scratched I thought it was from a kid on a bike. However, yesterday it just got scratched again, this time a little higher on the metal. I believe it is from the rocks that are kicked up from the rear wheel drive tire. I don't have splash guards. Is this the problem? If this is the problem, how come the left rear bumper never gets scratched. So anyone know which rear splash guards I should get?

 

Not sure where you're getting damage at, quarter panel or bumper, but it could happen on one the right more than the left if:
More road debris collects on the right of the road since most roads have a natural crown to them to allow for runoff. or
Axle might not be perfectly centered. If it's not centered, it's kind of common and not a real problem.

 

I doubt it is road trash kicking up. If it was, others would have it.
