My guess for the next gen.

Ford is notorious for putting out bits and pieces of future models on show cars from previous generations. Take this SEMA show car of the new '05 Mustang before it was officially unveiled. From what Ive heard the new '09+ will have this more forward sloped rear end and the front end is a no brainer especially considering that it looks very similar to the shelby GT500 that we have now. Keep in mind that I took these pics in November of '03. Dont be surprised to see many of these cues on the next gen mustang.

Which is funny because the 05 Concepts were designed after the 05 Production was locked.

I'm sure it won't be a complete departure from what we have now.
And it will be more aggressive in the front... and with hips

The Stang's aerodynamic drag coefficient is already a bit on the high side for a modern performance car, 0.36 or 0.38 if I recall. If anything, a bit of fairing in and cleaning up would help performance, economy and emissions.

I imagine the '09-'10 will be a bit more tightly sculpted and angular as is the Concept, but I don't think it will hew that closely in particular details. Rumors are of a bit more "aggressive" look, whatever that means. Perhaps more flared fenders for one and maybe even fender hips and a ducktail. Hopefully it won't mean a bunch of teenage-study-hall scoops and spoilers done on the cheap and cheesy.

Agreed, no cheesy scoops or spoilers - clean, mean and understated - speak softly and carry a big modular!! I would like to see the rear hips that have been addressed by many as well as a more aggressive exterior appearance - and for god's sake, the car needs to lose some weight. At nearly 2 tons, the GT500 is far too heavy for a performance car.
