Give and take these nuts, find another dealer!

 

I personally don't care about mileage. That is usually more emotional than an actual threat to the car. I used to swap cars about every 12 months, and always went for new model year leftovers that had 100-200 miles on the clock. Never had a problem, and that's what warranty is for anyways. I do understand your annoyance, but in the long run, it's probably water under the bridge.

However, I feel the dealer's attitude toward an obvious body flaw as you described it is unacceptable. I would have done the same thing you did - WALK AWAY.

 

I would have absolutely left it right there, and then I would have given the regional manager a call...

Thats ridiculous and completely inexcusable in my opinion.

 

Is 7.8 miles the record low? Dealer wouldn't let anyone touch it.

 

OP: You did the right thing by walking away. There's always another Ford dealer not far away. I recommend "my" dealer, Hall Ford in Newport News Virginia.

 

You did exactly right but I'd go one step further and file a complaint with the BBB. A$$hole deserves it.
