First, turn caps lock off.
Second, you apparently didn't read up on std. features on a base model car. Speakers can be upgraded, and the head unit can be as well, but it's going to cost you. I'm sure you can add speakers in all of the factory Shaker mounting locations, but you'll probably have to pull additional wire to make it work.
MyColor should also be able to be retrofitted for a price.

You're probably better off going aftermarket at this point . . . there are some other audiophyles (sp?) on the board who will probably chime in with with some suggestions.

Most factory radio systems leave alot to be desired. I was once into all the audio stuff and had a few cars with expensive and elaborate systems. Now I would rather hear myself think, keep my eardrums and hear my exhaust note. The base radio is good for some background music and that is all I would ask of it. Have you sat in a Shaker 500 car and compared that to how your base radio sounds? The Shaker 500 and even the 1000 are not all that geat either so don't expect Alpine or Clarion sound out of it.
Try looking on ebay as a few people have ditched the factory radio in favor of an aftermarket one on the 2010's and 2011's. Bound to find one soon if you keep your eyes out.

Yeah, at this point you should just go aftermarket. The Shaker 500 is passable, but you can get much better, and if you're already talking the cost and trouble of buying a unit and speakers and swapping everything out I'd go aftermarket and get a seriously nice sound. Takes a little research to get everything set right, but once you get it done you'll have a sound system in your car that makes most home theaters sound muffled.
Just be careful not to go too crazy on the bass, it's unnecessary and it'll damage your ears. A clear sound across the whole range is better IMO.

Here's one option for you. It's all plug and play. http://www.championmustang.com/moder...er-p-1840.html
I'm OK with the Shaker 500. I've had the car a month and a half, and still have my old car (a 2005 Prius), and there is a huge improvement from the Prius to the Mustang that I notice every time I drive the old car.
I wouldnt dwell on it for too long. Honestly the Shaker 500 isnt anything special at all. I will probably at least replace the speakers with Polk's and while I do love music, I'd rather hear the car instead......
I would visit www.crutchfield.com and a local shop in your area and ask about suggestions from installers.
The Shaker sound system is overpriced junk and the my color dash lights are only cool if you want to impress a 15 year old girl. What are you upset about? Get an aftermarket stereo that would cost you half of what you pay for a shaker and sound a lot better.
*unless you are into impressing 15 year old girls. If so
