my 0-60 in a 3.7 auto

Only got 2 runs in tonight, it was crowded, and I got there late. I rigged up my windsheild mount that holds my iPod to hold my digital camera. The angle isn't great, but it's different. The car next to me was a Charger R/T, I had about a 1/4 car at least on him the whole way. His ET was slighlty better, but my reaction time advantage was the difference. Also , I had a very slight trap speed advantage. I will post the timeslips in the morning.

Wait you had the advantage on the reaction time? Haha man, do you know the rules of the tree? And don't take me too seriously. I've only been to the strip once, but I looked up when to go about 10 minutes before leaving the house to the track haha!

Thats good. You could have stomped the gas pedal on the last yellow light 'before' the green light and would have cut a couple of tenths off your time.

that's funny as hell thinking that the guy in the Charger was like " i have this snortin', 5.7 L hemi and i can't catch this quiet, skinny-tired Mustang WTF!!!"
Good job with the run and the video

Haha I knew your RTs would be around 1.x seconds. As David said, you go on the third yellow, not the green. But it seems the Charger didn't know that either. All good man, try that next time and you'll be good. What is your launch technique? Using any brake torque? TC on or off? Doing any burnout/tire pressure adjustment? Sounds like you're having fun, and that's what it's all about! I have a 2000 V6 Auto, so it's pretty much the slowest car on the strip. Well, at least where I took it. But anways, my RTs were always better than whoever I was racing. Only my 2nd time down the track and my RT was .145...out of the hole can make or break a good time, especially with my car which falls flat on it's face after about 3k RPM.

TC was off, tire pressure was not touched yet. Left foot on brake, right on gas, a little over 2000 rpm. No burnout, kept the tires out of the water, although the launching area was a little damp due to people dragging water from the pre-stage area up there.

According to their website, PocketDyno is not free - $12.99.

Edited: looks like there's still a free version listed in the app store, just not mentioned anywhere on the website.

I velcroed my iPod to my dashboard this morning to keep it nice and stable, wish I thought of that sooner, works much better than the windshield mount. I did a couple more 0-60 runs, got it down to a 5.46.
