Mustang Ordered!
I ordered my 2011 Mustang GT today. It will be built during Job 2, as requested by me. My salesman talked to the regional rep, who will hold the order for an August 23 build week. This will make for a long wait, not rare around here, but I'm hoping for a late September delivery. I ordered it with X-Plan--GT Premium, Race Red, Brick Red 401A, 6M, Brembos, 3.73, Comfort, and spoiler delete. I'm pretty excited!

congrads and prob a smart move waiting for a job 2 build.
im trying to hold out for a 2012 build to see if there will be any more updates over the 2011 job 2 build. especially since they are making 2012s so early according to whats posted here.

It's a discounted fixed price given to many companies and their employees. It's roughly $200 over invoice.

It's now 100 shares for 6 months now. You can also as I understand it join the Mustang Club of America and get a pin as well. That's only $50 for the membership and doesn't cause agita as you watch the market go down.

What's the advantage of having it built during Job 2? When does Job 2 start? Should i tell my dealer to hold off until then? (I ordered mind on 7/3 but don't know when it's going to be built.)
Thanks.
Thanks.

Personally, I think it's pretty neat driving the 4,676 production 5.0 mustang off the line...

I'm not sure there is really an advantage to a Job 2 build. However, there are several parts changes for Job 2, many of them for the engine. This could be updated parts, or just a change in suppliers, I don't know. I just feel more comfortable getting one after the growing pains have surfaced and are accounted for (if any.) That said, the warranty and recalls will cover any problems anyway so I wouldn't sweat it. I am starting to get antsy though, knowing it won't be built for at least another month (Job 2 starts 8/16.)

I work in software...and one thing that is the rule of the land. Any new "update" always means new "bugs".

Not to be a fly in the ointment, but you're more likely to have fewer growing pains at the end of a build cycle then in the beginning of a new one with new parts introduced. Those new parts also mean more opportunities for additional problems.
