Mustang facelift 2010 right!

I could have swore Ford officially announced a few months ago the 2009 facelift would be pushed back one year to 2010. I keep seeing these 2009 threads so I am curious.

I would take Galaxie with a grain of salt. He thought the next SE was going to be a Bullitt. (and obviously he was right)

Back on target I swore Ford made an official statement delaying the facelift to 2010. The current car is great so in my opinion the later the delay the better. All the mustangs are stunning. The only thing I don't like are those **** air extracters on the Shelby. They are God awful. Thank God for the stripes as they take your attention off the ugly extracters.

NO!

Maybe they'll win the cup when every other team goes bankrupt and folds.

I honestly don't get why everyone keeps cracking down on those Air Extracters. I swear after reading so many post's about them, I'm like the only one that likes them. They're both funtional and add a little meaness to the front end. Many may disagree... but surely they're better than fake scoops with no purpose other than looks, and better than a boring nothing at all.

Jet I am glad you like them, I wish I did. The reality is scoops have always been for looks anyway. A scoop functional or not placed in the middle of a hood is about useless. Wind tunnel tests done by ford in 1967 proved this as the vast majority of air hit the front of the hood and goes right over it. The best spots to actually force air into the engine are at the very front of the hood or where the window and hood meet as these are the best negative pressure areas. Beyond that you need to be going about 90 mph anyway for the forced air to add anything to the carburator. Ford realizing this placed the 1968 Shelby scoops right up front where they could take advantage of the location for function.

For air going in sure....

but the shelby scoops aren't for getting cold air in...

They are for getting hot air out and no doubt releasing any preassure under the hood. A problem that plagues the 05 when going high speeds with the stock hood.

So yes the GT500s are functional... notice they are called 'extractors' not 'scoops'
