lowering springs / alignment needed after install?
Hey guys, I will be getting my BMR lowering springs and panhard bar installed on Monday. My question is do I need to get a new wheel alignment done when they do that or not? Thanks for the input
you'll want one about a week or two after. My friend works at a dealership and hooked me up with one the other day.
I don't see the mention of new adjustable strut mounts, only springs and panhard bar.
Since caster and camber is non-adjustable from the factory strut mounts, and toe-in/out does not get affected from lowering, there will be nothing to have aligned.
If you want proper alignment with lowering springs, you have 2-choices, Eibach Camber bolts or Adjustable Caster/Camber plates.
- Eibach Camber bolts allow +/- 1 degree of camber, which will help prevent the inner tire front tires from quickly wearing for street driving. $60 or less for 2-pair.
- Adjustable Caster/Camber plates allow for full adjustment by a shop performing a front-end alignment. $250-350
If you install the springs without either of the two items above at the time of installation, you will have to pay someone to get back in there and do it all over again, and if you wait too long, you will be buying new tires at the same time.
