Looking at buying a '13 GT Premium Mustang...
Hello Everyone,
I'm new to the forum. I've followed the threads for a while now, and now I'm looking at buying my first late model Mustang. I've enjoyed the topics and learn a lot about the cars. It's time for me to put some skin into the game now, so I've found a 2013 GT Premium model with 12k on the clock in auto (I'm in my 50's) for $26k. It's got a couple of added packages. Not a former rental-first thing I check. I'm ready to buy.
So, what do you think price wise? I'm in Cali. Thanks for your opinions.

I think that's not a bad starting price. If it's at the dealer I think you could walk OTD right around or below $24.5k. If it's a private seller it may be a bit more challenging. Good luck!
Good price if there are extras on it. What are the options?
Considering that a 13 would still be under full warranty, why would a former rental be an issue? Both my 05 and my 12 were fresh off the rental lots when I bought them. No issues with either of them. (I still have the 05).

Ok, that's good to know. I've always assumed that rentals are driven like they where stolen. The GT certainly would have been high priced rentals so perhaps they would be better respected/maintained?
The packages on the 2013 GT are '19 machined aluminum wheels, reverse sensing system and security package, and comfort package and red metallic paint, new msrp of $39,025 when new.

What is the mileage? How much full warranty is left on it. If buying a 2013, I'd look for a car with at least 2 years left on it and mileage around 10 000 or under.
All I can say with certainty is decide what you absolutely must have in the car option-wise, and then what you would like. It can be a pain in the donkey to retrofit options, as I have done. Better to have a car that has everything your looking for.

The mileage is 12k. It's a Ford certified used car, 100k power train warranty.

Doesn't seem like a bad deal to me. Of course there is always some wiggle room in a dealers price, so don't hesitate to negotiate a little. The comfort package, and the reverse sensing system will be ones you will appreciate.
