I don't really care if it's a deluxe or premium. Although the premium would be awsome, beggers can't be choosers. What's important to me is it is a GT and stick. Those are the unwritten rules with a mustang. I can always take the money I save down the road and slap a charger underneath the hood. Right now I am just hoping for a loan approval.

Anyway, I never found out what the 3.73 rear axel package does? Does anyone know?

The 3.73 rear axle is just a lower final drive ratio, meaning the car is effectively geared lower than the stock 3.31 rear axle; this means it will be turning a little higher RPM at any given speed, and will have more torque / faster acceleration . . . it doesn't really add any HP, but it feels like it because of the effectively lower overall gearing.

Most of the performance oriented guys want the 3.73 rear for this reason . . . I wanted and got the 3.31 rear because it gives a little better gas mileage, and the fraction of a second quarter mile time won't really matter to me.

I think the 3.73 rear axle package also includes some other minor improvements -- high performance brake pads?

Hi again, we're posting at the same time . . .

$25K is an almost unbelievable deal for a Premium, a good deal for a Deluxe . . . I think you should be able to find a Deluxe for $25K relatively easily, if there are any left . . . I think I saw one or two around here while I was looking

Yeah, this is the only deluxe I have seen. Still a good looking car for only a deluxe, I was impressed. The thing I really like about the premium is the leather wrapped steering wheel. That's the only real down side to the deluxe IMO. Out side of that, I think the new cloth is pretty sharp. I hated the 05-09 cloth though, stamped ponys or the word mustang, looked tacky. Glad to see they made it look more mature.

Have you checked out Ebay?

I was able to get my 2010 GT for $22,894 back in March and it's the base model with a stick, it also has the 3.73 gear package. I got that price w/out haggling and I even went to another closer dealer to see if they'd match that price and they did.

It was listed on Ebay at $23,194 w/ a "Best Offer" option. I submitted an offer of $22,500 and they came back with an offer of $22,894. So after tax tags and title it came out to a lil over $25k.

If it helps I still have a copy of the email somewhere and can forward it to you.

Which dealer ????

I think the standard 18 inch wheels they give you are way better that the polished 18 wheels you got on the 05-09 mustangs.

As I was test driving it, I was on the highway and I wanted to really feel its power, so I really started to push the car, and I couldn't believe I was close to 100 MPH and it didn't even feel like it. Once the tak hit that 6 RPM area in first and second, it was just insane. This car totally rocks. I gotta edit my signature now.
