Let the negotiations begin!

I would like to know what everyones strategy is on successfully paying under sticker. Please do not include your money down or ()plan or brochure money, strictly the negotiated price. I would appreciate any insightful strategies that you, yourself have been able to lock down. Thanks guys.

Make dealers beat each others' offers. First guy offered me 300 under invoice from my internet quote (which turned out to be invoice after the processing fee), and eventually found a dealer giving 500 under invoice with only a 90 dollar processing fee. Success!

Never step into a show room or dealership to negotiate. That's their turf. You hold the reins via email or telephone.

You put money down before you got your best price? What?

You should have agreed on the "out the door" price before you give them any money. If they say it's not possible that's a lie. I got two separate forms that included my "out the door" price that was agreed upon.

Is your car in production or have a VIN? If not I'm pretty sure you can cancel your order and get your deposit back. I'd do that and shop around. You'll be able to find dealers from at LEAST 300 under invoice+holdback+destination, if not 500.

Why would you think you negotiate AFTER you sign the buyer's order? I'd never pay full sticker for any car.

edit: And yeah, this is my first new car too. Super excited!

No go ask for your deposit back. Shop around. Find your best deal and get it in writing before you put down money.

if i were you i would just talk to the deal after you have done some research now. most likely they will work with you, if not go to a different dealer. I only put $100 down to get my car ordered and my dealer told me it was 100% refundable for anything (even if i just changed my mind). nothing as far as price is set in stone with the deals tell you sign the finance paper from what i have seen in the 4 vehicles i have ordered and purchace from ford. so just go talk to deal.

Your buyer's order MAY say whether the deposit is refundable or not. Even if it isn't, you may want to try to talk to the manager. If he refuses, you can threaten to bad mouth them to everyone, because you ARE getting ripped off paying sticker.

You haven't mentioned what price in relation to invoice or sticker your dealer has offered. Have you asked them?

Your window sticker isn't what you paid. What does your invoice/buyer's order say?
