Just drove a 2011 Mustang GT and I'm not sure I like it!

"When I get the next one I know I will have to put an aftermarket exhaust on it right away. Although I was impressed with how loud the stock 5.0 was."
You are the first person I have heard say that. Everyone else including me has said its WAY to quiet.

The exhaust is deceiving just like the power. Quiet inside yet has a nice growl outside when driven. From the outside it sounds not much different than my 08 with GTA's.

I was disappointed until I opened the door and revved the car a bit, I was actually impressed. Should sound good when driving around down town where my apartment is.

Just got off the phone with my Sales guy. He said that status as of my car as of June 18th was "sent back to plant." AGAIN!
I told him to go ahead and cancel my order. Today is six months since I ordered, and I'm not even sure that I liked the car that well when I test drove it. I'll just stick with what I have.

I checked thru all of the posts on this thread, and maybe I missed it, but I didn't see where anyone proposed this possibility: that the dealer just put sucky gas in the tank! Every Mustang I test drove was near empty because the cheap dealers don't want to put any more gasoline in their inventory they have to. And who knows what kind of crap they have back there?
When I took delivery of my car (feel very fortunate to have found what I wanted via dealer exchange), it was filled with fuel, but who knows what kind? I immediately put 93 in there as soon as it got near a 1/2-tank (didn't take long, LOL).
What I've noticed about the 5.0 is it doesn't make as much torque at the lowest RPMs but once it starts pulling, 7000 rpm comes along in a hurry. Every other muscle car V8 I've owned ran out of breath above 4400 rpm. My erstwhile BMW 540i 6MT had 32 valves a 4 cams and STILL only had about a 5700-rpm redline. The 5.0 gives us so much more area under the curve due to that curve extending (and climbing) to 7000 rpm. That area is what accelerates us!

Who thought the day would come when a 400+ hp Mustang that runs 12.5-13 1/4 miles is not worth it and not exciting enough. I guess Ford can go back to being complacent and should just stuck with the 315 4.6 for another few years as the 5.0 is really not that good anyway.
Best i ever ran with my 08 GT auto with a tune/CAI and DR's was a 13.8. Here i have a chance with a completely stock auto to run 12.5-13 depending who you believe and who knows what with just a tune down the road. The '11 is well worth the wait!

Why don't you get one off the lot? By the time you sink $$ into a resto-mod car, you probably would be in the ballpark of a new 2011.

Well, my Sales man said they wouldn't give me X-plan for one on the lot, plus there's not that many of them out there.
I meant a restro mod that already had everything done to it. But actually my 2008 GT is fine right now.

I posted a review of the 2011 Gt vert and I listed several reasons why I came away less than impressed.... https://themustangsource.com/f726/wt...-drive-483960/

Even if this is the case I would tell your dealer that you no longer will be doing any business with them. Unless you just wanted them to match X-Plan pricing without having X-Plan.
Either way, sorry you were so utterly disappointed with the car and the company. Hope you don't give up too much, there isn't much US steel worth its weight these days.

How do they reject you for X-Plan? It's a partnership with Ford!

After all that wait that is the least he could do.
Order one thru Jeff or one of the other board dealers. I only had to wait 6 weeks for my order to show up.
It is sitting at Jeffs dealer right now. Now if the **** bank would only call me back
