Sorry to say bud, but since X-Plan isn't elible on the purchase, you can't use it to save on the doc fee as its not an eligible sale type for reporting. Sorry bud.

Will a DORA be issued if there is no allocation. When is it normally issued?

You probably won't see the document fees until your car arrives and you go to pay for it.

That's correct. The Doc Fee is part of the dealership tag fees. You won't know it until your ready to pick it up, or you can ask them for what it costs for a new tag or transfer of tag.

A DORA can definitely be issued even if there is no allocation. I can put in 10 GT500 orders, but if I don't have any allocation, they won't get built. They will just sit there until the model year ends and get cancelled.

I never got a DORA on the car I ordered, I later found out the dealer didn't have an allocation. That's why I asked. I did get a VOC (Vehicle Order Confirmation) when I placed the order.

Hmmm, how can I check to see how my order will fare with my dealer? I asked them whether allocation would be a problem, and of course they said it wouldn't. It is a large dealer and didn't have a lot of Mustangs on the lot.
Is there a place I can get a for certain honest answer whether mine will get built?

I was talking about a GT500, I don't know if Mustang GT's are allocated.

Hey bud, if your car is the one in your sig, you'll get it. Regular GTs are easy to get. Its just a matter if the dealer has allocation for the month. If they don't, the dealer usually asks for a favor to get it built. What Earl is talking about are GT500s. If a dealer doesn't have any allocation, they won't get one, straight out. A regular Mustang or GT, you'll get it in about 6-8 weeks, give or take.

Whew thanks! It's been almost 3 weeks, no word of anything yet - order numbers, VIN of course or anything. 6 to 8 weeks though, that's not too long from now!

*Smirk* Mine won't be "Regular", it's going to be JUST what I wanted. The beauty of ordering - there's that waiting period, but you get exactly the options you want (and there were NONE I could find like it). And, if you nab it right off of the truck, no test drive by someone else first. I DO NOT want that car, the one where people crash course learning to drive a stick while trying to see what this thing can do during a short test drive.

Since there were absolutely none in inventory anywhere I could find, it's going to be relatively unique in a pretty wide area. Sure there'll be some sold earlier and later, but not that many.
