I got my order in today from www.BCAUDIOCONNECT.com and replaced my speakers with Clarion 5x7's and the difference is awesome! I highly recommend doing this.

I bought these- http://www.bcaudioconnect.com/product_p/clrsrg5721c.htm

I recommend these though just because they can handle more power and they will still fit- http://www.bcaudioconnect.com/product_p/clrsrq6831c.htm

They are quite a bit cheaper on Amazon.

I want to do a simple coaxial swap out in my base 2011 audio system - my only worry is that the bass will suffer by using 5 x 7s. Do you think the clarion's have an equal amount of lower end output? Reason I ask is because I have no intention of getting a subwoofer; so I need speakers that will rival the factory bass output.

On my previous car, I had two amps - one for speakers, one for subwoofer, and an aftermarket head unit. Had infinity kappa speakers, which sounded absolutely amazing, but without the subwoofer (an IDQ 10) they severely lacked any lower end output. I don't want to be disappointed in a swap out. But I also can't spend the same kind of money to overhaul this stereo.

Me, too...for those who have installed aftermarket speakers...have there been any loss in bass?

My "upgraded system" is a Roush exhaust and open sidepipes...under $400 invested!

When you say the 6x8s fit, what are the downsides? Do they fit without modifying anything else and use existing mounting holes? Are you saying any 6x8 will fit or are some too deep? I haven't had my door panels off and don't know much about speakers.

TIA

Well I installed those Clarions Friday. Much improved sound over the stockers. The highs are nice and crisp, mid bass is improved, and the lower isnt bad. For 90 some bucks shipped I can't complain. I am going to add a 200 watt or so 4 channel amp and should make it even a little better.
