Are my brembo brakes done already?

I have 13k miles and just today they started squeeking like no other. They used to do this before, but it would go away upon hard breaking. However, I tried this and it still came back. Any ideas how long the pads last for? I use it as a dd with no track time at all

Think another member posted something similar, take it in to the dealer and have them replace them.

That really depends on your driving style. If you brake as late as possible all the time, it's certainly possible. A performance oriented pad certainly isn't going to last as long. However squeaking in and of itself doesn't necessarily mean that you've already worn through the pads. You could simply have some dust buildup or uneven compound transfer that is causing pad movement in the calipers.

Get out a flash light and inspect the pads on the rotors. You'll be able to tell if you're getting close to needing to replace pads.

Without serious abuse, track time or excessive brake-riding, it's unlikely that they would be used up so quickly.

I'm not near my car at the moment but I believe you should be able to see the pad thickness without even removing the wheel.

My right rear started making noise at about 600 miles . . . hadn't gone away yet at 1,400 so the dealer replaced my rear pads and it's fixed. I'd take it in and see if they can determine the problem. I don't know if they will cover it at your mileage so be prepared. The OEM pads are expensive!!!

Take them apart and drop new pads in but put some anti-squeal between the pad and the caliper.

I've got about 15k on mine and it squeeks for no reason, tap the brakes and it goes away... then as the wheel continues to rotate it comes back.

Last service at the dealership I asked them to check it and they said it was just brake dust.

While I can understand that to an extent, this seems like a lotta freakin break dust.

**** i hate going to the dealer. They're so lazy in what they're willing to do especially when the work is being covered under warranty/protection plans.

And my car is not abused at all, never goes to the track.. hardest braking it sees is on the highway if someone pulls out in front of me.

+1 on the anti-squeal grease suggestion.

Also take the car out and go run the bed-in procedure. This will cure 95% of brake noise issues.

8-10 repetitions of 40mph to 5mph, then 4-6 repetitions of 60mph to 5mph.

Don't set parking brake, let brakes cool completely or take a 20 minute highway ride to cool them down.

The goal is to heat up the pad and get material transfer to the rotor.

Hey members,

Brembo brakes are performance brakes and tend to be noisier than regular brakes. If you feel is excessive and not normal please do not hesitate to bring it in to your Ford dealer for diagnosis. If you do, please private message me with your dealer, VIN, mileage, and contact info so I can escalate it for you.

Mine just started making a creaking sound when coming to a stop from 25-30mph. The sound only is audible during the slow down between 10 to 5mph. Is this similar to what your experiencing? I don't have Brembo's and it only started the other day. 3,900 miles on the clock, dd. I'm curious to why this is happening as well.

Yes, brake dust front and rear is terrible...however I guess it's just a trade off for awesome brakes!

I rev match when slowing to a stop. If it is done correctly you won't wear the synchro's or the clutch. It takes some practice but it makes you much more in tune with your Mustang. I have very little dust on my Brembo wheels.

+1 on a ton of dust . . . good news is I think I prefer the brembo wheels with a slight layer of brake dust! They get washed at least once a week though so I really haven't seen a horrible build up.
