I Took The Plunge!

So last night I placed my order, a 2012 Mustang GT Coupe Premium, Kona Blue, Stone interior, 6-spd manual, HID/Security Pkg., 3.55 LTD Slip, Comfort Pkg., Brembo Brake Pkg. & Rear Video Camera. My salesman told me that it will take 6 to 8 weeks to receive my car. This is all new for me, as I have never owned a Ford before & have been driving Hondas for the last 20 years. So far I couldn't be happier with my experience & the great deal I was able to work out.

Congratulations - yes it does sound awesome! Keep us posted...

I ordered a 2012 Convertible and really agonized over getting the Stone interior. I ended up going with black and I hope I don't regret it. I thought thay maybe the lighter color might work out better if it is parked in the sun for a while - guess I will just carry a big towel (my wife's suggestion!).

I wonder if that fire at the Magna plant will delay anybody's orders?

You jumped the honda ship for a ford too huh? So did I. Got tired of waiting for them to build me a proper affordable sports car that could be used daily.

You'll love your mustang, and I'm sure wont regret the move. I gave up 2 hondas for this mustang. was worth it.

Yea I love Kona Blue. that was my first choice, but it was either Black with the 3.73 and Brembos... Premium... OR Kona Blue, base 5.0... Black is USUALLY my preferred color choice... and its what I ended up with... Saddle was the only way for me to go though interior wise, I love it. Stone I was afraid I'd get dirty too fast.

I hate to bring you down but they tell everyone six to eight weeks. Be prepared for 12 weeks. Congrats though

Yes, it most likely will - local news up here (Michigan) confirms the AA plant in Flat Rock is closed all week due to the Magna fire. They did mention the fire affected the headliners and other interior parts for the Mazda 6 line; not sure why it closed down the Mustang line also? But closed it is at least for the week...

So I guess my and all other orders will be affected some - dang!

I guessed as much. My dealer told me 6 to 8 weeks, but from all the reading I've been doing, 8 to 14 seems more realistic. No matter, I'm very excited & haven't driven a V8 powered rear wheel drive sports car in 20 years, so I have a lot to look forward to.

I agree with you about the stone interior getting dirty & if this was my daily driver, I would probably have gone another direction.
