OMG Ford finally put out an update for the Nav system!! New version is 5.1x last version (read current on my 2011) is 3.1x - guess 4.1x got lost somewhere

There is also a software update too with it so a total of 4 DVD's, 1 DB, 1 Gracenote and 2 software updates.

Although when you go to Navteq.com and get redirected to the Ford site, you have to look under 2010 to get the info and application list PDF and there it shows 2010-12 (attached).

 

Are you telling me I can update my 3.1 on my 2011

Does this actually come with a Sync update, or just an update to the map software (not maps, but the actual software that creates routes, etc)?

In addition, this update includes: Improved voice recognition features, a Sirius radio channel lineup (corrected the channel lineup as a result of combining Sirius with XM) and Improved traffic alerts (moved to middleware 5 traffic feed).
This product also contains an update for your Gracenote® database.

Hey everyone!

I just wanted to jump in and clarify that the map update from Navteq does not have any affect on the SYNC software.

Navteq releases map updates once a year. Don't quote me on this, but they're usually released in or around June. During that time we should see an update available for the 2012 models.

The 2013 models will come with the latest map version available.

The last ETA I got from the dealer was 5/7 but that was before the build date was finalized.
