They are on, and it took me about 2 hours. I don't have a lift so I put the rear axle up on jackstands. There are 3 pins per muffler that attach to rubber mounts, 1 at the tailpipe and 2 at the other end. The one at the tailpipe is pretty easy to get off, but I couldn't for the life of me get the other 2 out. There is so much in the way under there. And yes, I sprayed the mounts with silicon first to help, and dropped down the panhard bracket. What I ended up doing was taking the entire muffler bracket off with the muffler itself still attached. There are 2 bolts on the pass side and 3 on the driver. This way I could take off and reattach the mufflers to the rubber mounts off the car. Much easier. Anyway, it sounds amazing! Quiet at idle and in normal cruise, but when you step into it, the aggressive tone really comes out. I couldn't be happier. Video too:

I've seen nothing but good things about these mufflers. I think I need to make a move. They sound pretty good.

 

They sound great. I'm seriously considering ditching my FRPP Sports in favor of the GT500s since they are a lot more suited to daily driving. Much more civil!

 

I also went with the GT500s... will install in the spring.

I'm concerned about the exhaust tips. They're not the nice looking rolled tips.... how do they look? Anyone replacing / adding new tips?

 

I prefer those tips as they have a larger internal dia. with the same outside as a rolled tip would. After trying several different ones on my '07 GT Vert, we went whit the same as the 500 has. Gave the smoothest, deepest sound.

It would not be hard for a muffler shop to change them though.

 

IMO gt500 tips > rolled tips

 

Yeah I do like the single-wall tips of the GT500 mufflers. Rolled tips look kind of bulky.

Even if they did nothing for the sound, they might be worth their price just for the 4" tips alone. My opinion. The regular GT tips look neutered by comparison.

I like the rolled tips better, looks more complete. Now the sound on the other hand, I can't argue

 

I had mine installed by the dealer last week. The sound is perfect for me.

I too was worried about the look of the tips at first but after looking at them installed I like them better than the GTs stock tips. The rolled tips look to generic and something you'll find on all types of cars. Also, you don't have to worry about keeping the GT500s tips clean.

 

The tips look great, however they tuck into the valance too well, and you can barely see them from the side.

MonkeyStash, What part of north Atlanta? I would like to hear your GT500 mufflers. I am in Braselton. I installed hushpowers about a month ago and tonight installed my stock mufflers. Drone at mild acceleration was too much for me.
