I can't find the perfect cell mount!!! Please help
I have NO connection to Wal Mart or the people who made the mount. I was trying to help out a fellow Mustang owner. I like this mount a lot 'cause its easy to use, holds the phone in a convenient location without interfering with any of the radio controls or the CD slot. Sorry I have not owned my car long enough to be a expert.
I used a Pro Clip Mount to mount a 5" Ford Racing Tachometer on my 2013 GT, it's been mounted for over 2 1/2 years. and has been down the Drag Strip many times! Great Mount - Tachometer is much heavier than Cell Phone! Highly recommend!
www.miniinthebox.com has it for much cheaper. $4 delivered vs $35

I tend to agree that $35 is expensive. Then again, so is your phone. I've had inexpensive holders that range in a wide variety from suction to sticky strips to units that sit in your vents, cup holders, the works from e-bay, flea markets, sites like you've posted. They all haven't held up. This is the largest smartphone i've had and this holder by my standards has been the best one to date.

This is the one I use ($15 at Amazon):

Sorry for big pic, its the pic from the Amazon listing. I bought it because a) it clipped to the vent and b) the ball on it is the same size that Garmin uses so I can mount my Garmin there as well (I keep a Garmin as a backup GPS since I travel for work).
It's been working well. Except when I recently hit a big bump in the highway and it popped-off (uneven patching from construction). I caught it before it hit the floor (phone stayed attached to it, it just didn't stay attached to the vent).
I think I'm going to make a bracket and hard-mount it instead of using the vent clips. I've seen people sell brackets for $30+, which is too much. I have supplies to make one. Something like this for a metal mount, but to the top instead of the right:

I normally play my music from an SD card but why would I fumble with a phone to change music if the music was coming from the phone? Even mounted its a distraction to use ANY touch screen while driving. I just call Cortana and tell her what to play.
Lumia 920 here. What do you have?
Windows 10 will be awesome. Did you follow Build last week? They showed compilers for iOS and Android. Just drop the source code into it and it shows you what (if anything) needs to be changed to replace Google services with Windows services for Android apps. And since this turns them into Windows apps, all the security problems with apps on Android disappear. Actually technically this isn't part of W10 but they are releasing it to developers now. I say its not technically part of W10 because they used it to convert apps in secret with selected developers and release them for W8. So even if you have a phone that your carrier drags their feet updating to W10 and you don't feel like bypassing them, you still may be able to run converted Android and Apple apps on W8. An example is Candy Crush Saga. The app in the Windows store is just the iOS app recompiled for Windows. The videos they showed of recompiled apps show them running as fast or faster than on Android or iPhones which is not surprising since Windows is more efficient than either of those OSs. I don't know if all apps will be because MS probably wouldn't demo one that wasn't.
Back to WP and Mustangs... I test drove a 2016 base and told the salesman I wanted to confirm the car would announce texts, read them to me let me dictate an answer. He said the car definitely can't do that. He couldn't believe it when it worked and called some other sales-people over to show them. I take that to mean Android or iPhones can't do that with a base and he just had never seen a Windows Phone.

You can replace your battery if its getting old. The 1520 doesn't have a (owner) removable battery. Fortunately its holding up. Its a huge battery so I could go 3 days between charging until I turned on Hey Cortana (for other readers: talk to Cortana even if the phone is asleep or out of reach) and it dropped to ~2.5 days, I think I'll turn Hey Cortana off because I almost never use it and when I do it doesn't save me much time/effort.

Yeah I did follow Build last week, I'm pretty excited about the upcoming changes! And I love how windows phone will read out texts and let you reply. The only thing I can't get mine to do is press the steering wheel button and say "Text Joe"...Sync will say this feature is not available. I've been contemplating switching to Android the past 6 months or so. I may not if texts won't read aloud on Sync.
But even cars with no apps for texting can also initiate texts. You simply press the steering wheel button and say "call Cortana". WPs adds a fake number for Cortana to the contacts the car sees. So the car thinks its actually calling a person. When Cortana answers (the Cortana tone), you can say "text xxxxx" and Cortana (technically not Cortana but Cortana's voice) will ask you to say the text. Then she will read it back and ask if you want to send, cancel, add to or do over.
Basically Cortana knows what the command "text" means but your car doesn't, so you have to insert the step to "call" Cortana.

cellphone holder that works for me.
I bought a Patuoxun Dual 2 USB car charger cradle mount holder stand cigarette lighter ..... for $10 on Amazon
I cut a small hole in the top with a pocket knife so the cigarette lighter cover can click and hold in place.
Full acceleration and it doesn't come loose.
I have pictures but can't seem to upload.
