So should I do a throttle body too since I will have the intake off for the CAI install? They are kind of pricey, and I'm not sure if the gains are worth the money. Does anyone have both?

Depends on which throttle body, which intake you go with. You'll need a tune with a significant change in MAF.
As far as the change that can be expected, a throttle body and intake upgrade can definitely add plenty of power if it's tuned and if it compliments the motor. I'm going to be adding a 65mm cobrajet TB and a JLT intake later this year and it will put me right at 700rwhp along with the long tubes and off-road collectors.
