So should I do a throttle body too since I will have the intake off for the CAI install? They are kind of pricey, and I'm not sure if the gains are worth the money. Does anyone have both?

No, tb is not worth the money. Your looking at a gain of a couple of hp for a whole lot of money.

You'd also be looking at getting a tune if you do a TB.

i wouldn't bother with a CAI, or a throttle body without some thing like long tube headers, intake manifold and a tune as well. But i ain't no expurt.

Depends on which throttle body, which intake you go with. You'll need a tune with a significant change in MAF.

As far as the change that can be expected, a throttle body and intake upgrade can definitely add plenty of power if it's tuned and if it compliments the motor. I'm going to be adding a 65mm cobrajet TB and a JLT intake later this year and it will put me right at 700rwhp along with the long tubes and off-road collectors.

My car is a V6. I was going with the airaid cai and bama tuner. The tb I was looking at is the BBK 73mm.

TB is a waste of time on a V6, would only help on a FI high boost install.

Just spoke with a Bama tech. He said the power gain isn't worth it. It would help the throttle, but the tune would take care of that. Just saved $400!

For some reason I was thinking you were talking about a GT. The TB would be a waste for you, then.
