How is your 401A interior holding up ?

I have a 2012 GT with the 401A interior, first ill say when getting in and out of my car I do not just jump in the seat. I'm very careful getting in and out of my car but I'm getting a lot of little scrapping on the seats, is this leather soft or what ? Also any good kits or die to hide the scratches ?
Thanks...

My car is a 12 gt with the 400a. I'm not careful at all. I just jump in. I have one faint scratch on the left of the seat top. The leather quality is probably very average. I hoped for more but it is what I expected.

Mine is holding up just fine. I never had any issues with the leather with my '10 leather seats either.

Do you wear anything like jeans with rivets? Do you have anything like a wallet in your back pockets?

It could be the detergent on your clothes causing accelerated aging and/or wear. Since you're in a suit most of the time, I assume you're dry cleaning, so I would suspect the residue from dry cleaning. If you self wash/dry your clothes, maybe your detergent or dryer sheet is suspect.

Additionally, your perspiration (sweat) could be acidic thus causing the aging/wear on your seats. When you wear leather shoes or watch bands, have you ever noticed accelerated wear?

Lastly, does you car get parked in a garage at home and/or work, or is it exposed to sunlight and UV all day. If outside much, adding tinting to the windows will help cut UV a little more.

Lots of people on here have different levels of aging and/or wear, and any number of things contribute to this, so in addition to this being a low/mid quality leather seating, other factors should be considered too.

Yes, I'm now beginning to show my age...and wear...

As to my leather seats, I use Lexol once a month. It keeps the leather soft, and helps prevent the wear marks/cracking on the lower seat from sliding in and out.

Leather seat replacements are cheap for our Mustangs. I see sets for sale all the time on Ebay for under 200 bucks for the fronts and backs. If you are concerned about the condition of your current set, buy a set off of Ebay. Keep them around for a swap if your seats get too bad.

But simple once a month care will extend the life.

I've heard great results with Doc Baileys leather care too. It has a dye pigment for black that restores lost color:

I got my Mustang used, so the damage was already done to the seats. I do my best to keep them clean and treated.

Strangely enough, I have a scratch on the shifter ****. It's not deep, but it makes me wonder what kind of jewelry the previous owner was wearing. From what I understand the car was previously owned by a Ford exec.
