Two separate arguments. If it's 'cheap' one wants, then don't even bother with performance comparisons.
It will if you cant afford the gas.
But nice info to have none the less.

Is that the 350z or 370z weight? I didn't think those numbers were out for the 370z yet.

While the SS is the top model it's still at a GT level in price. Well close enough and not at the same level as the GT500.

While I see your point if you are talking price points my comment was focused on folks comparing the V-6 Camaro and its 300 HP to the GT and its 315 HP. Hyundai has compared their V-6 to the GT.

I'm pretty sure the 3.5 or 3.7 V-6 will show up in the Stang next year. I'm guessing a 3.7 Stang will beat a Camaro V-6 by 2 car lengths.

All this doesn't matter, as there's not a package as good looking as the Mustang among them. So they're doomed to fall before the Mustang in failure. For some, that'd be "again."

/The preceeding is an "IMHO" event and does not necessarily represent the opinions of The Mustang Forum or some of it's residents, or anyone else in the entire universe. But you know it's right.

370z Starting at $29,930 MSRP
3,232 lbs.
332 horsepower @ 7,000 rpm and 270 lb-ft of torque @ 5,200 rpm

I love my Stang but yes Ford people do cross shop these cars.

The new Z is the best competitor to the new '10 Stang. Tough choice.

If they do, hopefully they are smart enough to research and realize the huge lack in torque.

Yes, but it is lighter and probably handles worlds better. I realize it's a two seater sports coupe (as if the back seat in our car is really functional beyond small kids) but a nice car none the less. I looked at a 350z seriously because I was having troubles getting my 05.

It looks like Nissan spent a lot of time on the interior as well since it was the biggest complaint about the 350z.

Ford guy @ reveal hinted () that the cold air from the KR comes on the 2010 GT500, ergo 540HP. Plus, upgraded supercharger available as a factory add-on for 600HP. As always, your mileage may vary, not applicable where void and this is not written in stone. We will know in 51 days, give or take. If all the speculation pre-reveal has taught us anything, it's that it's all wheel spinning 'til then.

I think a race between the GT and 370Z will be a lot closer than you think. I wouldn't say it would get "smoked." Handling wise there is no doubt the GT will get smoked. The Bullitt is faster than the outgoing 350Z (about a half second on the quarter which is about 75 feet at 100 mph for those that don't think a half second isn't much). The 370Z (330 hp/270 ft-lb) is about 100 lbs lighter than the 350Z (306 hp/268 ft-lb). It should be a pretty close race.

Solution: 2011 Mustang GT with 5.0L 32V DOHC 400 HP engine (combined with factory Bullitt handling upgrades).

Buh-bye 370Z...

Better, yes. Worlds better? Doubtful. Not in normal driving either. Its still good to see the competition push the envelope though.
