But that's my point. Boomer, you've seen a lot of my views thus far, and I like to think you've agreed with a lot of what I have to say. But when the weapons change, so does the war, to use your terms.

We're witnessing the last Mustang/Camaro/Challenger American muscle war, where heavy-duty V8 engines are the top pick for enthusiasts of all three. I won't bash a V6 the way some will, but to me, there's no replacement for it. As it progresses and your choices become a turbo'd six, or some other such stuff, to me.. that'll be the end of the last muscle car war.

Ford will not put a V6 in a "GT" Mustang again. Guaranteed. It may be a low volume, smaller displacement/FI V8, but it will be a V8.

Meh. The 4.6 @ 11 PSI is around the same as the 5.0 @ 6 PSI I bet. Both what I feel will be the engines safe limit. Anyone more serious should just start with an SVT product.

There will always be people wanting more power. No matter what they drive. IMO, the biggest limiter to increasing horsepower is the amount of money one can or is willing to spend to obtain it and feed it.

100hp/liter

That's when it'll be enough for me. Then when it isn't, i'll strap a turbo or two to it and go from there.

I'm sure he's talking about naturally aspirated engines. Anyone can slap a power adder on and get those numbers.

Ditto. I'd be perfectly happy with a 2010 if I could fine one in the color combo I want, which pretty much doesn't exist anymore. I pretty much only want an '11 to get the options I want with the color combo I want. That and I already have a bunch of cool license plates picked out .

Be ready, I have heard rumors of Ford working on a 4.0L DOHC V8 in the 375hp + range that may possibly go in a 3300# 2014 or later model.

It may go into the Mustang. But it will NOT be a GT. If Ford has to keep production volume down and increase the price on the GT, then that's what they'll do. Ford made the mistake of axing the V8 in the mid 70s. They won't do it again. That sounds like an awesome V6, and I'm sure you're right. But it won't be called a GT.

412 hp is nice, but nobody needs that much for daily driving.

Entire Europe gets around in 80-100 hp cars (many are diesels), I don't see the reason why everyone else can't.

Who cares about Europe? I sure don't. USA > Europe. They can keep their lame cars.

....or for about the same money as a 2011 GT you can buy a very low mileage 2007/08 GT500. Then spend another $1100 for a CAI, tune and pulley and you're at a very safe 650+ horsepower. No way to get that much reliable power for that cheap out of the 5.0. Just something to think about.
