How Many Will Buy a 2010 Mustang?
#41
I was thinking about it, but they softened the car up to much, and they killed the rear end, im sticking with my S197 still sexy as ever!
if i make any new mustang move it would probably be a used gt 500. but i highly doubt it, I love my car and im keeping it for a VERY long time

well i mean its not as "muscley" if that makes any sense they smoothed it out out like the lines are softer and not as bold, on the fenders more than anything... i like my mustang chunky look at those fenders, come on...
s197 rear end FTW

I disagree. To me, the curves they've added to the body add muscle to the current slab-sided design. Think '67 versus '66.
Hell, even my wife's Stratus has those chunky fender flares.

Well while the economy hasn't shut me down, it has considerably slowed my spending. As I have my own business I've got to trim personal and business expenses. The '07 is paid for, so she's not going anywhere, and when things were going great I was considering a 2011 5.0, SE, or even GT500. But for now these are just on hold. Plenty of time for things to turn around. So we shall wait and see. No matter what I'm keeping the '07 as I have fallen in love with her and could never let her go now.

Personally, I would wait until the full reveal before making a final judgment. As the camo paint does a really great job of hiding the 2010's curves.

Well, with the economic crash reducing my new car fund to the point where all i have left is enough to pay for this years property tax on the 06, perhaps get it inspected for this year as well, I think I will be waiting till the 11 or 12 showes up. Maybe the 14.
I do have to say, however, that I definately like what can be seen of the 10 and should the funds recover enough ...
The problem with waiting till 12 to get a new one is that it will be so close to the 14 that we will be seeing hints of what the remodel will be as well as new mechanicals and it will likely be difficult not to wait on a completly new design.

My '05 is going nowhere. It'll be paid off in '09 and I need to enjoy a little time without car payments if possible. I wasn't thinking about getting rid of the car and after seeing the pics we've seen of the '10, it further secures my position as a "hold". I agree with those who said they ruined the rear. Can't be 100% sure until the reveal, but from what I've seen so far, I like the '05-'09 rear end better. With no real powertrain changes for '10, my opinion on the arrival is DOA. I believe my next move (if there is one) would be either on a sell of mine and the purchase of a mint, used GT500 or Saleen H version with the blower option. Either of those work real well for me as a next step.

i know what your saying and your right the camo does hide alot, but there is no hiding this rear end, weird shaped tailights and a nice dent in the middle of them, as well as a trunk that curves inward just doesnt look right with the line of the lights and all, and dont get me started on the chunky bottom of the bumper :/ maybe if they got rid of that misplaced dent idk... tought call but this right here ehh...

Well I can't vote because the economy has nothing to do with my choices.
I do not think the '10 looks better, although it is only the rear end I really dislike a lot.
Same engine, heavier than my car. What is the point?
I am still mulling over buying a second used Mustang and modding it heavily.
Probably another '06, maybe next year.
More likely I will pay off my house first.

As for the trunk which curves inward. I actually like it, as the 1969 Mustang also had a conclave styled tail light panel, that curved inward with straight lined tri-bar tail lights as well.
Overall, I really like the 2010. Especially those hips, and updated interior.

I definitely won't be. I really like the appearance, and am glad the interior has made huge leaps in quality. But I just traded in my GT on a Infinity G37 coupe and am really digging it overall and this car would have to be a miracle in person for me to consider having two cars.

I also don't care for that chunky 2 piece rear fascia either. IMHO, it belongs on a Chevy Avalanche SUV, and not on a Mustang. On the other hand, I'm sure the aftermarket will have a solution for that, soon enough.

i agree... so far this is what i like about the 10
1. hips are nice
2. interior is a step up
3. cool hood
4. decent front but the v6 front is hotter
and of course rear is still ugly! lol im not letting it go

its looking like i will wait till i have eveything paid off and buy a 2011 now that i know that candy red metallic is on the paint list. the only other thing that would keep me from buying one is buying a 1968 or 1972 fastback!

And if by aggressive you mean it has a fat **** , a Jay Leno chin for a front bumper and FireMarshal Bill's lipless grin for a hood, then yeah, Ford really nailed it...
