I'm having my car striped and I need to remove the faux gas cap. I tried some see-saw action to remove it by passing a wire between the cap and trunk but it is not really coming off ... anybody have a better suggestion or picture of what I should do ? Because of the bulge under the cap, it is hard the reach the double-sided 3M tape behind the cap

 

I think you can go on American Muscle or on CDC's website and see the install directions for the solid blackout panel and it will show the best way to remove it without buggering up the paint.

 

Why didn't I think of that ?
