Well I just got my 14 GT in Jan, so I think I will stick with what I love for now! Besides, I want to the opportunity to mod this bad boy out. Still like the aggressive front end on the 14 better. Don't really care for the rear on the 15 but out of the box, the handling will be improved.

We rented a Mustang on a recent trip to Vegas and loved it so much we are in the market for one. We are currently in a 14/15 debate and the 14 is winning. The 15 does look sexy but a bit generic. I miss the "hockey stick" body line on the side and the B pillar. I like the new interior but watched a You Tube video showing a decrease in rear leg and head room. I am also concerned about the aluminum fenders on the 15, how are they going to look in a few years?
I am waiting to see what the April incentives bring, if they are good a new '14 may soon be in our garage.

I am in the group of people who waited for the S550 to make the decision to buy. I kind of like the new style and possibilities, but actually prefer the '13/'14 styling and jumped in a 2014 after the reveal solidified our choice. Of course getting invoice price and then $4k off helped a lot!
We'll drive our 2014 for a few years and trade it in on a S550 down the road when most of the kinks and bugs have been worked out.

I really want to like and buy a 2015 but it's just not working for me. I didn't like the 2011 and I got over that but the 2015 will have to be a big performance leap to win me over.

Someday I'd like to own a 13/14 Shelby too, but in addition to my 12 gt...never to replace her. I'd have both.

I'll tell you what I think.
1. The S550 will be faster and handle better. How could it not with more power, less weight and an IRS?
However all of that being said.
2. A Mustang is supposed to be an American muscle car designed for Americans. I do feel the S550 looks more Japanese-Euro than American.
3. Ford does need to start reaching out to new buyers. Enthusiasts in my age bracket (43) are already sold on Mustang. So maybe it is time for Ford to reach out to some new blood to keep the pony running strong.
4. I'll never be a hater as like I said I drank the Kool-Aid 38 years ago when I first took a ride in my cousins 1973 Mach1.
5. I am also a Thunderbird SC enthusiast so I see value in an IRS and am also a fan.
6. I do not like the styling of the new S550 as you can probably already surmise by this post.
This is strictly my opinion and this is exactly why I ordered a 2014 2 weeks ago. it all came down to styling. At least for me it did.
Ford has been doing things real well as of late. Their marketing research has been strong. I am certain the 2015 will sell very well. If Ford can begin selling Mustangs to younger buyers that would otherwise purchase a 370Z, Hyundai Genesis, Scion, Subaru WRX, Mitsubishi Lancer, etc. then I am all for it. Less ricers the better. LOL.
Again for me. I'll take the retro S197 in 2014 form any day of the week as it reminds me more of a 1960-1970 Mach1 and when someone says the word Mustang, that is what I think of but hey compared to you younger guys on here, I'm an old fart. LOL. It's kind of funny. When I got into cars years ago I was the young kid. I may feel like the young kid but now I am the old fart. :-)

^Well said.
Funny you mention the Tbird, my parents bought a new '94 LX with the 4.6 and that was an incredibly smooth, well built, comfortable car. Only one part failure in 70,000 miles, that car was bulletproof and felt silky smooth and refined at 15 years old just like when it came home for the first time.
I think the Mustang is going in the right direction - the direction it NEEDS to go in, and the Camaro and Challenger should follow suit but likely won't. Times change and Ford realizes it and it shows in the S550. I think the Challenger is a lost cause that will be discontinued rather than redesigned because its obvious Chrysler doesn't give a crap, letting it get stale and not dong anything to be even remotely competitive with the Camaro and Mustang. I think GM will miss the Mustang memo and keep the Camaro as is, and eventually discontinue it ten years from now due to poor sales/development/unwillingness to change.
