how do i use the remote start in my 2012?
I know this sounds like a dumb question. I have had my 12 since 2011. She has basically been for her 1st 2 years..a only drive it in pretty weather car. I've been driving her to work a lot this summer. It's been hot & I want to use the remote start too get the Ac going after work. I have gotten the remote start to work sometimes..I think I'm doing something wrong either NOT holding the button down long enough or vice versa. Any suggestions? I can't find anything explaining it in the paperwork we brought home from the dealer.
If it works like my F-150's you push the door lock button twice, then push the remote start button twice. Also, the batteries in the remotes are pretty sorry, so you may want to get a new one just to make sure. Wally World has them on the cheap. Hope this helps.

I can only speak for the generic Ford keyfob with the integrated remote start....not sure what the Mustang has, mine doesn't have it.
So, I think you may be forgetting to press the Lock key before you double-press the start key.
So the correct sequence is: LOCK-START-START

If its like the one i have on my 2011. Just push in and hold the 'Key' button (on the seperate fob) until the horn beeps once, then let go. Your Mustang will start and run for around 5 minutes before it shuts itself off.

I must add: If its all one key fob, its like Jim said. My wifes Edge has it too. You push the door lock button two times then push the start button two times.
