Hood vents =water mess

Anyone have any good ideas to keep engine bay dry when washing the car. Heat vents in hood are nice on one hand but after you clean and detail under the hood those vents will dump water all over the place. Thought about laying towels in there but forget to take them out and start the car......not good.

I've had my 2013 for over a year now, power wash it all the time and never had problems with engine bay from vents and I have a lot of chrome under there, but again I always clean under the hood every time I wash Stang.

Yeah, I wash the car about once a week on average and I don't really avoid the vents with the hose, but only end up with a few drops on the CAI that I just wipe off. I also drive in rain and might get a tad more water than that when I do, but it's still pretty negligible. I eventually will get one of the CAIs that seals to the hood, but it's way down my list.

Oh thank God... I thought I was the only one OCD enough to detail under the hood every time I wash her.

I feel slightly less f**Ked up now - just slightly.

Rush makes a vent plug for cold air kits. You could use two of them while adding the car.

Yeah, same here. The drains are pretty effective. It just takes a minute to wipe down.

I only put little mf towels over the battery and fuse box. Post wash i use an electric blower inside the bay. I don't drive her in the rain though.

I wash mine every weekend and ALWAYS detail under the hood, inside door jambs and under trunk lid. It only takes a little time and it's a hell of a lot easier to wipe up a little dirt every weekend compared to a lot of dirt once or twice a year.

for me the JLT insert helped me get the issue sorted out.

Anyone notice that the passenger side vents dump water right onto that part of the wiring harness that splits into a Y, where there is no loom covering it?

Eeek.
