Hood vents =water mess
Hood vents =water mess
Anyone have any good ideas to keep engine bay dry when washing the car. Heat vents in hood are nice on one hand but after you clean and detail under the hood those vents will dump water all over the place. Thought about laying towels in there but forget to take them out and start the car......not good.

Yeah, I wash the car about once a week on average and I don't really avoid the vents with the hose, but only end up with a few drops on the CAI that I just wipe off. I also drive in rain and might get a tad more water than that when I do, but it's still pretty negligible. I eventually will get one of the CAIs that seals to the hood, but it's way down my list.
I feel slightly less f**Ked up now - just slightly.
Don't forget the doors and sills...and under the trunk lid...and the lug nuts and...
I wash mine every weekend and ALWAYS detail under the hood, inside door jambs and under trunk lid. It only takes a little time and it's a hell of a lot easier to wipe up a little dirt every weekend compared to a lot of dirt once or twice a year.

for me the JLT insert helped me get the issue sorted out.
